This hotel is a brand-new capsule hotel.

If you have never had experience of capsule hotel, you would be surprised. There is only a bed in a room. But this hotel is much more comfortable than the other capsule hotel because room is big and tall enough that you can stand on the bed. It has a common shower room at 8th floor, which has a big bath. I love it very much. If you want a chat with friends and something to eat, you can stay at 6th floor, which has a small bar. And you can bring some food and drinks to eat there. No key of room. Only has a safe-deposit box in a room. You have to put your wallet, passport and something valuable into it. After you get used of it, you can enjoy staying.

I would not come again

First of all, I need to clarify that I am not Japanese not Asian, which may absolutely make my opinion biased. I enjoyed every bit of my holiday trip in Japan up until the point I stayed in this hotel. What bothered me the most was how slow and inefficient everything was. Let me walk you through: 1) As you enter the hotel (male-only), you are asked to take off your shoes and use the sandals they provide (which is normal in Japan). You then need to put your shoes in a locker and give the staff your locker key so that they keep it and give you your room’s/luggage locker’s key. You have to do this every time you enter or go out, there’s no taking your room’s key outside of the hotel. This is an important annoyance and will always take several minutes. 2) If you have medium/big luggage you have to store in the first floor either in a very narrow locker or on top of it, with yet another locker/key the staff has to provide. You cannot take big luggage up to your room as there will be no space (room’s are in floors 4-6). 3) It is recommended (but not obligatory I think) that you wear some bath clothes the hotel provides (a brown, saggy outfit that is always too wide or too short where it’s not supposed to). Most of the passengers wear these as pijamas during their stay and change to regular clothes in the luggage storage room before they go out. 4) Baths and toilets are clean, modern, and provide every bath product you need (including styling products, toothbrushes and even mouthwash). There are many toilets and lavatories throughout the hotel but there are no private showers. The only existing showering area is that of the Onzen (basically about 20 open showers in a room where everyone gets cleaned before entering the hot bath). This is especially important for people who don’t feel comfortable being naked in public. The hot bath is ok. 5) Each room has a lot of capsules that are usually full, so do expect snoring and late-night comers. Still, it wasn’t very noisy to me. The capsules themselves are comfortable and fully equipped with cables and even a TV. The air gets kind of hot and thick at night but there is a common AC that compensates for that. 6) Breakfast consists of onigiris (rice triangles with various stuffings) that you make yourself with a vending machine. The ingredients and tastes are a lot stronger and maybe unpleasant for a westerner compared to the onigiris you can get in a market. So, in conclusion, if you are familiar with Japanese culture and food, this may be a decent stay especially considering the location and if you like onzens. To me it wasn’t much of a cultural shock but I disliked my stay. The staff barely speaks any english, they are slow, and the huge mess with keys and luggage and shoes is just not worth it. I will not come back again, even if it means paying double for a normal hotel.

Very good value for money

Reviewed By fcz5

It is cheap, people are nice, you are very close to landmarks and train/subway. The only problem is that if someone makes noise, you will definitely hear it, but other than that, it is a very good price for money, considering 7 nights are the cost of a single night in an average tokyo hotel.

Very good for what you get!

This is a hostel type of hotel. It was extremely comfortable, clean, and the staff was great. The amenities and facilities for this type of hotel were top notch as well. The location was perfectly centered in Tokyo (Akasaka) with very short walk to the subway. Lots of food and entertainment nearby. I found my favorite restaurant around the corner - the BEST Chicken Katsudon I've ever had - I was in heaven.

Tamachi Bay Hotel

Lovely place, the only problem is noise

Reviewed By Jingle345

This hotel is really clean and the facilities are excellent. When you check in the staff are very friendly and helpful and explain how it works, where to put your stuff etc. You get a locker for your luggage, and inside the locker are slippers to wear into the main area, then in the capsule there are pyjamas, towel, toothbrush. The capsule had a very comfortable bed, was a nice temperature, was dark enough, had charging point, lights. It was not sound proof enough though! There is just a blind to close your capsule, which someone could lift from the outside. Therefore I did not feel totally secure and any small noise nearby from my neighbours woke me up as I thought it could be someone coming into my capsule.

This is only my second stay in a capsule hotel. The capsule itself was a little rundown. I got a capsule next to the vending machine and can attest it does get used at 3:30 am. One shower for 18 people. To say the toilet is cramped is an understatement. Next time I will go back to 9 Hours capsule.

Binemu

A completely new luxury capsule hotel that will be beauty just by staying

Clean and professional.

Reviewed By Michael K

I had an opportunity to stay at Binemu over the Christmas holidays. For a "capsule hotel", this is one of the cleanest and professionally run in Azabu / Roppongi area. The guests are a mix of local Japanese and foreign travelers. By and large, the guests are professionals rather than backpackers looking to make friends. Each of the capsule units are clean and well setup technically. All the electronic controls are right next to the bed and easy to operate. The TV had CNN and BBC. The WIFI worked well. As for the location, Binemu is less than 5 minutes from Oedo Line or Namboku Line on Azabujuban station. For someone traveling on budget, this hotel is highly recommended. One thing to watch out for. The bed sheets are not changed daily unless you do it yourself.
