Reviewed By Trip764258Great staff, free biycicles, beautiful beaches, low food and drink prices on the island comparing to resorts. Nice room. Great place to meet the locals and their culture. Combining the stay at Thoddoo and one of the resorts can be awesome and more friendly for a budget.

Reviewed By Alexandra SWe had a great time at Thoddoo Island, the accommodation for perfect couples. The breakfast was delicious, the staff was nice. The room was well equipped for full comfort. We spent a perfect week on the island, local people are kind and friendly. Both bikini beaches can be easily reached from the accommodation, and the beach is beautifully situated in a beautiful place. The accommodation can also help you organize your program. A visit to the resort as well as a funeral and a plankton evening program can be selected. We enjoyed every minute of the holiday, thank you.

A Perfect Family Christmas
Reviewed By Beth JI spent four days at Serene Sky Guest house with my parents over Christmas. It was a wonderful experience, Karam and his family went above and beyond for us. After booking I communicated with Karam easily, regarding transfer details and other activities available on the island. When we arrive he was waiting for us with a buggy to take our luggage to the guest house. Once we settled in he organised for us a buggy to show us around the island! The rooms are spacious and clean, with air con, comfy beds & large bathrooms. There is a common area where you can connect with other guests and play pool. The island its self is stunning, one of the most beautiful local islands I have experienced in the Maldives. There is one bikini beach on the far side of the island, which is one of the biggest and most beautiful bikini beaches we have seen during my stay here, it is roughly a 20 min walk away from the guest house, but you can easily hire push bikes or get a lift in a buggy. Along the jetty there is a local beach which is closer to the guest house, which is also very beautiful, be sure to follow the local dress code. You can snorkel just off the beach, it's very diverse and full of wildlife. In the morning the sun rises at the jetty side which is about 2 minutes away from the guest house. It was such a gift to get up and watch the sun rise, from the jetty with a cup of coffee. Be sure to get up at least once and welcome the sun, you certainly won't forget a Maldivian sunrise. Serene sky provide a great breakfast, we opted for a local breakfast mas huni and Roshi with fruit and coffee. But they also will provide a continental style breakfast also. There are only four restaurants on the island, at this time, but we found theres plenty to choose from and loved trying the local food. We fell in love with short eats! Maldivian snacks, which are generally based around coconut, and fish. The guest house also provide dinner for an extra cost. The local people on the island really made this trip for us, most people were very smilely and welcoming and Karam and his family made us feel as if we were apart of their family. It was such a special adventure for us, memories were made on Thodhoo that I will never forget. My favourite Christmas yet!

Reviewed By vowaDI highly recommend this apartment, the location is ideal. The house is perfectly situated in walking distance from nice beach, where you can do lots of water sports. Our house is nice. All the rooms have air conditioning, TV and our room has its own balcony. There is a nice terrace with table and chairs, so you can eat outside. Thanks to all the hotel staff for their hospitality. Thanks to our host for transfer and for congratulations on our 15th wedding anniversary.

Terrible experience with the accomodation owner
Reviewed By Rodrigo PTerrible experience with the owner of the place, an arrogant russian called Anna. When I arrived at Male to take the boat to Thoddoo, first surprise: there was no reservation for me and my wife. Excuse me? Of course I previously asked for it with full details and had my request confirmed. Yes, she simply forgot to complete it with the boat. First try to solve the problem: phone call to the accomodation, using the only phone number available (found at Google), but they did not answer. New attempts to the only contact that worked, the owner's private WhatsApp number, no answers either. To sum it up, I had to show all my conversation with Dive Villa to the conductor to prove I had a reservation and be allowed to take the only boat available to Thoddoo that day. That was really really embarrassing. But the worst was yet to come: arriving at the accomodation, even though I had already paid for the full reservation, I was charged 12 dollars, for Paypal comission, which was applied to the owner PayPal account. What?? I explicitly asked her BEFORE the payment if there was any extra charge for Paypal payment and she said there wasn't! If she does not know about her relationship with PayPal, of course it is not my responsibility! I refused to pay and asked the poor manager, which could barely speak a few words in English, to tell her boss to talk to me, cause that was not right. Surprisingly, she did not do that. Instead, she asked her manager to charge me those 12 dollars again and again of the next days. That was unbelievable, cause I think the girl couldn't even understand what was happening. Then I decided to send the owner myself a message, asking why she did not talk to me about the issue. Her answer even more unbelievable: she said she lived in Europe and managed the place from there, because she was "a very busy person", so it was impossible for her to talk to me (!!!). Yes, I was talking to a very arrogant person. Even so, I politely wrote a long message to her, explaining the whole situation, highlighting I was feeling embarrassed to be charged for 12 dollars, highlighting I asked her previously to pay with Paypal, asking if there would be any extra charge, which she explicitly answered no, and arguing that was the reason why I did not feel comfortable with that extra charge. Then her answer was even more unbelievable. I will not comment it here in respect to Tripadvisor community. Well, in a nutshell, I highly recommend you to search somewhere else to stay at the beautiful island of Thoddoo.

Reviewed By evgeniya kI really enjoyed staying at the Resten Inn as proof I didn't want to leave and changed my air ticket several times and stayed for some more weeks. It is situated in a peaceful place, near the good cafe Foodland and shops. It's 2 minutes by bicycle to a small beautiful bikini beach and 10 minutes to another big beach. There are 2 kinds of rooms in the Resten Inn : Standard and new one - Deluxe.The high ceiling makes the room spacious.It's clean and cozy. Everything works properly in the bathroom (as there were some problems in the other guest houses in Thoddoo). One of the main advantages of this guest house is the spacious outside area to chill out.The Maldivian breakfast is fresh, tasty and the fruits are perfect every day! The guy who cleans is intelligent, it's perfect every day’s cleaning of the room and outside area. Bicycles and masks are free and go well. Wi-fi works very well. It’s quite a relaxing and calm atmosphere in the guest house. All these things are under good control of the owner Nadeem and his brother. They are always caring and kind for their guests. It's really the key point to meet the good owner. As before I lived in the other guest house in Thoddoo under Russian speaking management, it was terrible experience. Love this place! Highly recommended! Thank you very much!
