Beware of non-refundable "deposit", lack of professionalism, and thievery
Reviewed By 687terricOn 3/31/21 I reserved a room at Villa Laguna for 10/14-21/21 to coincide with a tour my sister and I were scheduled to take through Israel from 9/28-10/14/21. $872.54US was charged to my credit card as the "deposit". Due to the bombings of several sites on our scheduled tour, the tour was cancelled and I contacted Villa Laguna on 6/6/21 to cancel our reservation and request a refund of my deposit. On 6/7/21 I received a blank email from Karin at VL. I emailed her back on 6/7/21 reporting the lack of a response. When I had still heard nothing from Karin/VL I emailed her again on 6/22/21. Still no response. On 7/7/21 I called Booking.com who stated they would look into the problem and they believed we should receive a refund due to the ongoing bombings. On 7/9/21 Booking.com emailed me that they too had received no response to their request to cancel our reservation and refund our money. Their solution was for me to contact VL...which I'd already done 3 times to no avail! The lack of professionalism shown by Karin/Villa Laguna by repeatedly refusing to answer my emails is appalling. The fact that they are keeping our entire $872.54US when they have plenty of time to re-book the room and refund our money is just plain thievery. We are senior citizens who saved for our first trip to Israel and are already sad we cannot go. It is so disappointing that humans continue to behave in such a despicable way. This experience has certainly tainted our feelings about Israel overall.

Bad Experience
Reviewed By trapezegirl32I booked a room for 1 night at Sun and View Casa via Booking.com about 1 month ago. I received a confirmation and everything seemed great. I then received a message that Sun and View Casa had cancelled my reservation due to invalid credit card. I had updated my credit card even though it was valid and I had just used it the day before. I have used the same credit card for other reservations . As soon as I saw the email ( i heard the message come in on my phone at 4 am ) . I called the hotel (which was 7 hours ahead ) and told them about the email I received regarding the cancellation . The person who answered the phone said my credit card wasn't valid and they couldn't help me but suggested I try to rebook again . So, I went online to their website and to Booking.com and it said it was ALL SOLD out . Bizarre since they just cancelled my reservation . I called Booking.com who looked into it and reported back the same response about the credit card. THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH MY CREDIT CARD. I then checked Sun and View Casa's website and Booking .com but this time I put in for 2 nights ( this included the night that I wanted ) and then it was available. So, it appears to me that Sun and View Casa wanted a minimum of 2 night stay but since I was only 1 night - just cancelled my reservation . Poor customer service - I told this to Booking.com that this should be noted on their file. In addition , the rate I booked was a refundable rate and no prepayment was required until 5 days before the reservation . The cancellation happened on May 5th and my reservation was for May 17th . So this was at least 12 days before anything was due. No good explanation was given to me. I then had to scramble to try and rebook another hotel . DONT USE THIS HOTEL - their business practice seems not on the up and up. I am sure that the hotel is probably nice but this type of business behaviour leaves a bad taste.

Reviewed By elinanileAwful place, we came here for 4 nights and really regretted it. The acoustics are terrible, the room has additional closed doors, behind which there are other rooms and literally everything is heard! Music plays all day near the pool, so if you want to relax - you won't because of the noise of people. The guard knocked like mad at 9 pm to check if there was anyone else in the room and did not even apologize. This is not a hotel, this is just terrible.

Wonderful place!
Reviewed By 767ullaWe spent 2 nights in this lovely, quiet house. Pool is very nice, room is clean, area is quiet ( not any traffic noise at night ). Kitchen is very good and perfect facilities to make food. Market and a pizzeria are very near to the house. It would have been nice if the owner would have come to see visitor when arrival. Also the water of the pool could be warmer. And some umbrellas are needed by the pool.

Reviewed By rachelt012This place was clean and was right on the beach which was nice. But If you need to get a good night's sleep don't pick this location. I knew going in that it was above a bar but online the bar was listed as closing at 10. They were up blasting music after midnight and it was full of locals that didn't seem to like having outsiders drinking with them.

A tranquil gem - allowing you to get away from all the hustle and bustle
Reviewed By O3156VGjoelThe location is great if you're trying to avoid the big hotels on North beach. As other people have said its very tranquil which is want we wanted - down time with friends and family. There's only a small number of rooms / units which was the attraction for us who wanted to spend time together without the crowds. Each unit has a full kitchen allowing us to make our own breakfast and evening meals. There were also some BBQ units with wood and charcoal. There's also an ecological swimming pool! It is close to the coral reek beach and a number of dive centers so you can walk to the beach or a number of small bars / restaurants. We had a car but there's a frequent bus route allowing you to into the centre of Eilat quickly. Would highly recommend and know that we'll be going back again.

Bad choice
Reviewed By gabenycIf you have other discount options for places to stay in Eilat, I would avoid Fawlty Towers if you can. The walls are thin, so you'll hear conversations happening in the rooms next to yours. When we arrived, there were no towels, some mysterious black dust was leaking from the air conditioner/heater onto my bed, and the hotel attendant was handing out rolls of toilet paper to all the guests on the second floor. The rooms are pretty spare and it's clear the owner hasn't spent a lot of time thinking about how to make them more comfortable. On the upside, the internet worked pretty well.
