Having never been to Sturgeon Falls before, we found ourselves in a hotel room, wanting a late night snack, looking through the hotel binder.
We didn't have a menu so we weren't really sure what the speciality might be so we called to order a pizza with the toppings we wanted.
We requested bacon strips and we were told they use real bacon??? Bacon strips are real bacon. It took 50 minutes from the time of our order to the time of Delivery, that seemed really long considering we were only about two blocks from the pizza place.
The Delivery guy was friendly and courteous, the pizza was hot but it was nothing special. It filled a hole.

This place has been there forever. Great place for family dinner. Good service and good small town food fare. I really enjoyed their cheeseburger with garden salad. Others like the Canadian style Chinese food.
Hint: It is located inside and behind the Country Styles Donuts. I could not see a an outdoor sign for Gervais. Looks like they removed it.

We were visiting family in sturgeon falls, and needed to go to lunch. AS a group of 10, we were immediately accommodated by the friendly staff. Service was quick, and food was delicious. Good, home style, stick to your ribs cooking-- exactly what we needed. And a big plus that the place is LLBO licensed too! Definitely recommend.

We weren't sure what all the chip shops and fresh cut fries we about, after all french fries are good, so we stopped to find out. They are just fresh french fries! They are good, probably not very good for you, but they taste delicious.

Great location overlooking the marina and Sturgeon River. We sat on the patio on a beautiful evening over the long August weekend and had a Greek Pizza. It was delicious. Love the thin crust. We were surprised the restaurant wasn't busier - and perhaps that is why it closes at 7:00 on a summer's evening over a long weekend. However, that being said, it was more relaxing eating here than at both Twigg's in North Bay. Service was wonderful and servers were friendly. We plan to return for a couple more Sunday evening light dinners before the summer is out.

Was checking into t local hotel Saturday afternoon and a gentleman behind me overhear me ask the clerk of a place to stop for drinks later. He mentioned that he and bunch of friends were having a 40th birthday party for a buddy. A few of us were on a bar hopping Mission and by the time we made it to McMaken's we ran into the birthday party. Met some great people and had a lot of laughs. Anyhow back to the review. The owners were both onsite working the bar, both seem to be very business savvy and friendly. The bar is very clean, well lit with a nice sit up bar and table for you choosing. A good variety of cocktail mixes and beers. I would highly recommend you stop in for a bite to eat or a drink.

This chip stand is indeed the best in and around sturgeon falls...believe me I know...my wife and I have tried them all...not once but many times...we just keep coming back. Service is great and the owner Monique is the reason....she takes pride in her business and her staff are the best. We have tried just about everything on the menu...from fish to burgers everything offered is delicious. Now closed for the season...we can hardly wait for next march for it to be open. Thank you Monique, don't change a thing.
