We came in the restaurant by coincidence. My husband was hiking on Matajur and me and 3 moths old son waited for him in Refugio in Italy. When we drove back to Slovenia we found this family restaurant in the middle of beautiful nature. Personnel is very kind and also food was delicious. View from the outdoor table was amazing and it feels like home!! We are very glad to find them and eat healthy food in the middle of beautiful Slovenia! We will surely come back!

After having had many meals of honest delicious local food, we welcome the change to dine at Trattoria Sale e Pepe. Every dish we had was beautifully presented, creative and delicious. The table setting was simple but elegant. Among what we ordered, our favorites were 1) the baccala' and polenta antipasto and 2) fiori di patate (stuffed gnocchi in shape of flower) stuffed with fresh ricotta and zucchini, served in a butter sauce with sauteed zucchini. The service was attentive but not intrusive. We highly recommend this restaurant even though it's a little far to get to.

Tucked away in the Natisone Valleys, once you reach this corner of heaven, you get to experience something unique, Traditional, simple local food with herbs that have been hand-picked by Maria, the owner. A set menu because everything has to be fresh, according to season. A unique atmosphere from the past. I loved it!

Really simple local restaurant serving typical local food. I came with my wife walking from Nebesa and stopped for a lunch. Food was very good a little on heavy side, but we needed that, we had a long walk back :)PS Don't miss their soup, it was one of the best I had!

We have had a business meeting and at the dinner, dessert "Panna cotta" was for one of us a little bitsoure. Not good. So we told waiter how we think about it. The cook came out of kitchen and started yelling at us like mad. Nonsense. The worst experience ever. Inappropriate behavior.

I have been to this place a couple of tiimes with our broad family and never left dissapointed!A nice and friendly coulpe that speaks tipical local slovenian dialect always makes the best of their hospitality and food that it served is excellent. There is nothing like a menu to choose from but the landlady is keen on proposing you all that she has prepared for the day.During weekends reservations obligatory or you might leave hungry! :-)

we were really hungry when we stopped here. but the service was quick and the pizza came out promptly. I ordered the large gorgonzola pizza with a bunch of other stuff on it. It was very satisfying and filling. wife ordered the tuna salad and was smiling (she cannot eat cheese). she did reach over and eat some crust ends and loved them. My only complaint is that the draft beer was not cold enough. That is why I did not give a 5. I would definitely stop here again if by a chance I return to the area

In the middle of tolmin is this restaurant with a nice interior and nice terrace. The waitress which served us is just how a waitress should be. Kind, friendly, funny and professional. She did great. The kalamaris as starter tasted really good and the calzone and pizza kebab as well. Drinks are good and for that quality really cheap. If you go to tolmin you should eat here.
