A wonderful retreat with a host that will make you feel like a local
Reviewed By Christin CI feel like I found a treasure when I stayed at this guesthouse. Everything about it is peaceful. To start, you are on the tiny Daikonshima Island. Then when you enter the small guesthouse, all the details and design make you feel comfortable and at home. The beds are cosy and give you privacy, and there are views out over the fields. It is right down the road from the famous Yuushien garden. You can also rent bicycles for an affordable price to peacefully explore the tiny island. The host is kind and will make you feel safe and at home. He speaks wonderful English and I really enjoyed talking with him as I learned about Daikonshima.

We are located in down town Matsue, close to Matsue Castle. Yonemuraya is a well-restored, traditional Japanese "Showa style" house. There are two bedrooms in upstairs. The living room, at the downstairs is furnished by Western style charm. We are proud to have you as our guests. *Shower room and western style bathroom are also new and clean. Complimentary breakfast included. Opened April, 2017

An old japanese houshod well renovated with so much japanese charm but adapted to modern needs with a must air conditioner and Wi-fi in the room. All are tastefully furnished, clean with great comfort atmosphere. Emi is extremely warm, freindly and gracious host who provides a lots of info about the excursion in Matsue and suburb because she is born there. She could be also a great welcoming host who eagers to help foreign guests make the most of their stay sine she has an experience for living abroad. Many fne dining with an ideal location. Emi would recomend what you want to take. The breakfast is simple but we enjoyed and satisfied with their freshness. I defenitely woud like to come back again and would say this is a very reasonably priced place to stay and perfect choice for Matsue.

Reviewed By yutashimadaOnce you get in house, you would feel like coming back friend's house for sure. Everything here is used for a long period of time but the owner uses as commodity. The owner is such a kind and very easy to get along with. What ill remember in Japan is the time I spent at here, "Hamanoya" definitely!

Great communal dinner
Reviewed By IWanderAr0undConvenient location, just a short 5 minutes walk from the train / bus station. Common area in separate building felt welcoming. The staff cooked a great dinner for the guests, and that was both fun and good value. 3-futon dorm room was very clean, but the floor was quite cold, and mattress perhaps a little too thin, as was the pillow. Overall, maybe a tiny bit expensive for comparable dorm-style accommodation in Japan, but good nonetheless.

Reviewed By LaPPA33Great house and place. It could be wonderful.... Unfortunately the owner is not taking care of this place. He’s not at all available, air conditioning is not working any more, the place is quite dirty, it seems that it hasn’t been cleaned for weeks! The price is to high since it doesn’t offer what it should! It’s the first time in Japan (travelled 5 times to this country for long trips) that we find a place so dirty.

Reviewed By andrewfS7265HXStayed here with 8 friends while running the okinoshima ultra marathon. Lovely, quiet location. Aki and his wife were wonderful hosts and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Food was amazing, all hand made featuring local ingredients, happily catering to various requirements. House comfortably sleeps 8. Would recommend without hesitation.
