With an amazing view from this restaurant we can have great steaks. Amazing taste plus exceptional service. Limited menu but still a lot. Chiwder as well as creamy spinach are out of this world. Great steaks , Burrata, cold meats , snow peas :) , try the burger, wow. I especially like that the staff is retained and they are all excellent and work as a team. Many places can cook a steak but these steaks are extra good and delivered in the best possible fashion by a friendly team of experts.Watch out for Jasmin ! Or is it Rose ? Or maybe Rose Jasmin ? I've been here a couple times since they opened and the steaks are among the best I've had in China.. Good food, good atmosphere and a decent selection of beer and wine.. It's near the Crowne Plaza and the sign is easy to find, but you need to go straight through to the wooden doorway to find your way upstairs and it's a little easy to miss... Definitely recommended

I had a business dinner at Char a couple of weeks ago. Before dinner we went upstairs to the bar, had a drink on the patio overlooking The Bund. Excellent view of the river and Pudong. Afterward we went downstairs to the restaurant for dinner. Food was outstanding, two shared a tomahawk steak and couldn't eat it all. Really great food. After dinner we went back upstairs, much more crowded but still could get some nice pictures after dark. Not cheap but definitely recommend Char!Dear 11SJ987it is always a pleasure to join the bar early on the afternoon and catch the sunset from our 30th floor to later join us for dinner, this definitely is the best way to start you dinner with us at CHAR bar & grill. Took a chance to travel across the river to The Meat for dinner with a friend (both of us are steak lovers) and I must give this restaurant a full thumbs up for excellent service, great ambience and the some of the best steaks I have had in a while. We started with the Jumbo lump crab cakes, which were really really good, and has a little spice kick to it. We then had the lobster and scampi bisque, which was light but rich - superb. The came the real treats - the Changbai Mountain China sirloin, which had great marbling and flavour. After that came the Jackâs Creek F1 Wagyu, which had a more gamey taste, but we enjoyed it for its different flavour. I highly recommend this restaurant, even if you have a travel a bit to get there. You will never find a better combination of wonderful Italian food and the fabulous personality of chef Simone. Visiting his restaurant is one of the highlights of my trip to China. If youâre really lucky, his lovely wife, Grace will be there. These two have created a perfect blend of cuisine, hospitality and a splash of genuine love to accent the dining experience.
