Having received excellent service at the Tritcher Ski Hire shop at the bottom of the nearby Hochwurzen lift and seeing the good reviews of the Tritscher Aparthotel in the same building we felt confident going to the Cafe Tritscher for a quick lunch. It's a great position, next to the piste, with a fabulous mountain view across the valley. The menu was ideal for a fast-food lunch, with simple local options ideal for skiers. Ours was only the second table to be occupied at midday earlier this week and there was no delay placing the order and paying in advance. I checked that the receipt listed the correct items. But after about twenty minutes only one of us had been served. The remaining three of us had each ordered schinken-käse toast (a quick to prepare toasted sandwich). A single serving arrived about ten minutes later but it took a further ten minutes to urge the kitchen staff to cook the remaining two. It was poor service but we assumed there had been a one-off communication glitch in the kitchen. That was a mistake. When we returned a couple of days later it became clear that poor service is the norm here at the moment. Once again we arrived early for lunch, before most of the tables were occupied. One of us was served within twenty minutes but the other three were still waiting after half an hour, although other customers who had placed their orders after us had already eaten. The second meal arrived about five minutes after we started to complain about the delay, and soon after that we managed to get the two remaining portions of goulash soup and the spoons to eat it with. The bread rolls to accompany the soup arrived after we had completed our meals and were leaving. It was too late for me, but my son started his roll only to find that it was still partly frozen in the middle. Maybe the Tritscher ski school classes get more attentive service when they eat at the Cafe but a well managed restaurant has a system in place to ensure that orders are not overlooked and that no customers are neglected. An error on a single occasion is maybe excusable - anyone can make a mistake - but to make such a mess of our meals twice in a single week implies a serious lack of management and competence. The lack-lustre young man at the counter blamed the kitchen staff, but I suspect that he was equally at fault. I hope that the Tritscher senior management pay urgent attention to Cafe Tritscher. Things need to improve.

We stayed here 3 nights so went half pension. Out places had 3 knives, 4 forks and 2 spoons for the different courses. If you go the half pension, you start with appetizer, soup, salad. main course, dessert. The restaurant is attractive and curtain fabrics as well as upholstery are co-ordinated. The portions were just right for me. Everything was very tasty.

You can sit here at a nice spot outside during dinner. Thanks to wind breakers, it's not getting cold there. The food is typically Austrian, and really good! The liver is awesome, and also the veil innarts are very excellent! Flavorful & delicious - the best Austrian food I had for a long time!

We have reviewed this place several times, the last 3 years ago when it had improved immensely. However, this time with the recent refurbishment, we were very disappointed. Extremely poor service one morning and not even busy. It seems they have a problem with lack of staff. We waited for around 10 to 15 minutes but there was no one to serve us. We weren't the only disappointed customers. So we got up and walked out and went to the cafe opposite. Where we were asked for our order within 30 seconds of being seated. Now that's Austrian service we expect.

Comfy and family-friendly tea house, coffee shop, restaurant and shop (yes, all in one!), sofa and free wifi included. Our espressi are strong and aromatic, our cappuccini are creamy. Our cuisine is inspired by food lovers' recipes from around the world.

It so difficult to find good Veggie/Vegan food in the Alps, so to find Artisan in Schladming was a real treat. Dishes were well presented and so tasty. The place is well looked after and the owners are very friendly with good English.

If you are already full od Wiener schnitzel, Speck brot etc. (as we were), Biochi can be the option. We found that place 4 years ago and stop there whenever we visit Schladming. Very friendly staff and creative "daily offer - usually 2 meals" are turning us back again. The atmosphere is very relaxed and food very tasty and cooked with love. We are not vegies but love fresh and bio food. Last time we wanted to taste both daily offer with no issue to get half and half. Menu costs up to 10 ⬠as far as remember.
