Eco retreat with million dollar views!
Reviewed By bucketlisttravellersFinca del Sol is a boutique accommodation option a short walk from the main part of town in Sasnta Cruz. The property is spacious and the huts are well spaced out throughout the property. We were impressed by the size of the individual huts. It is an eco retreat so the bathrooms have composting toilets and the property mainly runs on solar power. We had a few electricity outages while we were there. There is wifi on the property but only at the communal hut, which is a bit removed from the accommodation. It’s not the most convenient if you are a remote worker, however it’s perfect for people wishing to disconnect. At night you can see so many stars in the sky and the property has gorgeous views out to Volcan Concepcion. Breakfast is included in the room rate and the breakfast includes eggs, bread, fruit salad and coffee. Each room has its own water filtration system. They provide alcohol gel for guests to use.

El Zopilote is a permaculture farm/hostel. We have hammock, dormitory, and rooms. We have a organic restaurant serving Nica and Italian food (like handmade pastas, lasagnas, fettuccine, melanzane alla parmigiana) open at breakfat, lunch and dinner tevery day and 3 nights a week we have pizza night ,cooked in wood-bricks oven.In the reception we sell food and organic product hand made here.The land is completely planted with fruit trees, bananos and much more...Our goal is to be 100% sustainable. We have a look out tower where you can see the Volcanos and the farm. We organize tour to both volcanoes, horseback riding, spanish lessons, yoga classes (free), ceramic, bread and bees courses and there is free WI-FI 24h and free filtered water. You can work with us in the permaculture garden and in the work shop and learn something nice (free).

Reviewed By P374FAchristiangWe stayed because of a recommandation from a friend at El Zopilote from the 2nd until the 5th of January 2020. We camped there in our own tent. The workers and some of the volunteers are very friendly but most of the Women behind the desk are very unfriendly. They had no Information about the Trails around the hostel, no Information about collectivos or the chicken busses on the Island. Only a few numbers of Taxi drivers for 22$ per Taxi. The normal price is 20$ per Taxi, not 22$ and you find collectivos from Moyogalpa to El Zopilote for 100 Cordobas per Person and the other direction. But when you ask them for a Bus, they lie to you and say, there is no Bus or collectivo. They only want selling Tours. One of the Hostel-dog peed on my girlfriends jacket during our dinner in the Restaurant, they didn't care about it. We complaint about it and they say, they will wash it. They didn't clean the jacket. The smell after "washing" was the same. The food and the Pizzas (Tuesday and Saturday they have Pizza nights) are very good but expansive, even on the Island and they say everything they sell in the Restaurant is self-growing at the El Zopilote Farm. And for this, its not cheap. And of course, its not true. Most of the plants and vegetables are not from the farm, they are from the surrounding farms. That we learned during the free Zopilote Farm Tour. The Pizza nights are the party nights, alcohol, very loud music and some strange people (including some of the volunteers) from all over the Island. Because of the barking from the owners and volunteers dogs (up to 10 dogs), the Jungle Sounds were not hearable, even for us in our tent! All the time after ordering the food, the same unfriendly desk-womens couldn't remember to the people who ordered the food, so sometimes they brought it to another people or it takes 2 or 3 tries to find they right people. The Yoga lessons are free and very good, depending on the Yoga teacher. When we checked out, they wanted to charge us 4 instead of 3 nights and meals, we didn't ordered. In total 20% more then we must pay! So in this case we were very lucky to have our own list with all of our paying. After a long discuss we didn't have to pay their Bill, only our, the right, bill! We don't recommend El Zopilote after our stay, there a lot of cheap and good Hostels with including breakfast nearby. And in the hostels you can cook your own food and meet normal people and normal volunteers.

Little Morgan's is a beautiful place on the lake. With a range of accommodation options from private casitas to dormitories it can accommodate any kind of traveller. The unique natural style of the buildings makes this place feel like an island paradise. A bar and restaurant with pool table is open until late with great food and fun times. The mirador is an amazing place to relax and watch the sunset over the volcanoes.

Reviewed By mishtessWe were staying at a different place on Isla de Ometepe, but were looking for a place to watch an NFL game during the playoffs. Someone told us Little Morgan's was the place to go, and we were NOT disappointed! We got there a little early and they invited us to walk their grounds, head down to the waterfront for the view, and told us to check out the treehouse. Everything was spectacular and the treehouse was a beautiful 3-story wonder with a million dollar hammock view at the top. Several local residents came by and everyone was so friendly. Shortly after the game started, a rain storm came through and the power went out. Morgan left and got his generator (which had been loaned to a friend) and they got the game and a few lights back on, and then got the kitchen up and running! We couldn't have asked for a better gametime experience! The whole crowd was amazing, including Morgan and his son, Little Morgan. Thanks so much for your warm welcome and hospitality!

Lovely place
Reviewed By susannejW2701OQWe spent 3 nights in a large bungalow with a beautiful look at the volcano.you can sit on the terrace and watch the birds and butterflies. The owner is very helpful and gave us many useful tips for hikes and other things to do on the island and organized our trip back to the ferry. The restaurant does good breakfast and spicy meals. .

We are natives from the Island that just recently open a hotel we have 6 Private rooms, 1 Dorm, and 1 Cabana. We also have a restaurant that has your typical Nicaraguense food, vegetarian food, bar, eco-tours, bike rentals, horseback riding, and motorbike rentals.
Great for a short stay good location
Reviewed By Melissa KGreat hostel with breathtaking views of both Volcanos. Upon arrival staff were lovely! Friendly and extremely helpful. Could speak English which was a bonus. Common area is so inviting. Tables, chairs, hammocks and shade. Food and drinks are delicious and fairly priced. The price of the hostel was cheap at $8US per night which is appropriate. We got a 5 bed dorm for 4 of us. The room was large, as clean as you would expect for the location which has a large population of creatures. Bathroom was large. Tapware and the Shower were painful as the flow of water was scarce (not hot which was fine in such a climate). We were also provided towels which was great! The fitted sheet on the bed was terrible and by morning 3 out of the four of us had come off the bed which was painful as you do not want to lay skin to mattress. The rooms were hot but had plenty of windows and two ceiling fans which kept a constant flow of air pumping through the room at night to be able to sleep. Staff organised a tour to climb the smaller volcano with Damos who was fantastic and a pleasure to spend the day with! This hostel was as good as it needed to be while having a short stay on the island.

Authentic Nica Living W/ Beautiful Host
Reviewed By Darcy WWhere to start! Nelly is the most wonderful and kindest human we came across in Nica. She welcomes you into her home and culture. Basic accomodation with common area and good wifi, great sunset location looking over Volcán conception! She cooked local fish for us one night...??. Delisvious! She also teaches Spanish if you have extra time. She can help organise anything at the best prices and knows all the right people! 100% recommend staying with her if you don’t mind slightly roughing it or living Nica style.

The price was amazing and the staff couldn’t be nicer. They even had coffee ready for us at 6am because our race started at 7:00. We will definitely be back! Thank you!
