A special experience, we are so glad we stayed at Morgan’s rock

Reviewed By nataliemB8901FJ

Our stay at Morgan’s rock was perfect from start to finish. We had an ocean view room with a plunge pool and it was just beautiful, really spacious and clean. It reminded us of a safari lodge the way it is styled and doesn’t have glass windows only mesh so you really feel like you are in the jungle but also in luxury! The property itself is 4000 acres! and has jungle, farm and a huge private beach so there is lots to explore and activities to do. We did the monkey and sloth quest and loved driving round the property spotting monkeys and a sloth. The staff were brilliant and so friendly before and during our stay, especially Franklin and Harvy. The restaurant staff were also lovely and we really enjoyed all the food we had there, it was a really high standard. It is an expensive place but we really think it was worth it for the experience, we will not forget it!

Aqua Oceanfront Resort and Residences at Redonda Bay

Located in the beautifully wild landscape of Nicaragua’s Pacific “Emerald Coast” with a private white-sand beach, our 44 luxurious treehouse villas dot Aqua’s forested hillside, which overlooks a private, white sandy beach. Some of the Tree House accommodations feature kitchens, and incredible plunge pools that make it difficult to even consider leaving the deck. The lush forest that envelops Aqua is alive with spider and howler monkeys, and a wide variety of colorful tropical birds. Aqua is the perfect spot for a destination wedding, a honeymoon, an active family vacation -- or a serene getaway where you can enjoy nature and one of the most idyllic beaches in Nicaragua. Wellness services such as spa treatments, yoga, and meditation, coupled with fresh and tasty international and Nicaraguan fare in our restaurant and beach bar, create an enjoyable “barefoot luxury” experience for guests. Eco-friendly practices are well ingrained in the Aqua experience, and for those who appreciate and support sustainable, environmentally friendly travel, this is where you want to book. Aqua surpasses the standards and services of other luxury resorts while operating in an environmentally responsible manner. The staff is accommodating and friendly. While Aqua’s peaceful seclusion is perfect for an off-the-grid escape, the resort offers adventure as well: You can hike a 300-foot cliff and rappel down, or learn to surf on neighboring Playa Gigante, both within walking distance of Aqua. If you want to venture out for a day, we can arrange for a boat excursion to one of Nicaragua’s best surf breaks for surfing, or to its deep-sea waters for fishing. Perhaps a round of golf, horseback riding, exploring Nicaragua’s famous lakes and volcanoes, or its colorful colonial city of Granada, just an hour and a half away. When you return to the resort just in time to enjoy a spectacular ocean sunset, you’ll discover why Aqua is Central America’s premier luxury resort.

Honeymoon at Aqua

This place is absolutely amazing! I have nothing but great things to say about it. It’s beautiful. It’s relaxing. It has everything you need to rest and unwind from your busy life. My husband and I went here on our honeymoon and loved it! The staff is friendly. They go above and beyond. Anything you need - they will make it happen. They make you feel like family. The food was fantastic at the restaurant. We ate there twice a day. I highly recommend the chicken nachos. The spa was excellent. My husband and I both got two massages over the course of our stay. We got the Amour package (exfoliation + Swedish massage) and hot oil treatments. We also went horseback riding but I highly recommend you have some experience with horses first before you sign up because my husband fell off the horse during the ride! Lol. He’s OK and it was nobody’s fault - just an accident. But I wanted to share that with you as a word of caution. The beach is beautiful. The waves are small and the water is warm - perfect for relaxing. We stayed in the Xenia LS tree house. It has a remarkable view of the ocean with a private pool and kitchen. There’s also a wrap around balcony with lounge chairs. We saw howler monkeys, raccoons, crabs and beautiful birds. Also, there’s an adorable dog on the premises that you will see from time to time. Everything is high up on the mountain so get used to walking a lot. It’s a great workout and totally worth it. We went hiking to playa gigante and took tons of pictures. Everything is green, beautiful and the real deal - a real rainforest. It’s absolutely amazing and we can’t wait to go back.

Beautiful hotel with a lot of original details. The hotel looks out over the sea and the beach. There is a perfect sunset every evening, which you can enjoy from a number of different places on the hotel premises. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Nice rooms with good functioning AC, nice pool and delicious breakfast. This place is a (relatively) quiet spot in the middle of busy San Juan. I loved it!

Just amazing! :-)

I would give a higher rating if I could. This hotel is outstanding! I was the only guest and stayed in the room with ocean view. Oh my God... It was just amazing! The room itself is super nice, comfy big bed, huge bathroom, big closet with safe, desk and even some fresh flowers in the room, own terrace with sofa and hammock, stunning view. The beach is really clean and waves aren't too high, so you can go and enjoy swimming. If you feel more like having a good time in the pool: it looked very good, too. (I'm just more the ocean person, that's why I didn't use it.) Tracy manages the hotel and is a real super host. :-) She is always making sure you're fine. She took me to La Flor and offered to pick me up at any time I wanted - even in the middle of the night. Staff is also really nice, helpful, friendly and always smiling. I felt super welcome and like at home. Breakfast was fantastic: gallo pinto, eggs, really good bread, jam, fruits, fresh juice, coffee. ...and a lot! Lunch/ dinner would also be available. Thank you very much for this wonderful experience! I loved it and if I come back to Nicaragua I'll definitely be back at La Veranera. :-) Some organizational things: There is a restaurant next door and a small tienda is also around the corner. There is a bus from/ to San Juan 3 times a day. If you come by car, a sedan car will do it in dry season. But for rain season, you might even struggle with a 4x4. (On the way back we had to cross a river and only the bus dared to go.) If you wonder whether you could cross the border to Costa Rica at Frontera de Conventillos or at least use that road next to the boarder to/from Sapoá: I was told by several people it's not possible.

Nice stay

Reviewed By joannetsarouha

Clean room with nice breakfast options everyday. Big bed and bath with really hot water! Parking is available for scooters or cars. One bad thing was that our safe was broken so we couldn’t use it and the hotel didn’t do anything about that when we complained. The island is still developing and you are in nature so there were spiders and centipedes in our room, which is make my husband kill. But it’s to be expected in such a remote part of the world. Not many dinner options nearby, just two or three tiny restaurants. So, if you don’t have transportation you are kind of stuck with those options.

Killer views, stunning location

The views are truly stunning. You can watch people surfing from your bed! Staff are friendly, most speak English if you need it. It is as the name suggests a big surfer crowd, all laid back and just fine with us old folks in their midst. It sits between 2 great surf beached one great for beginners, one full of fun for the more experienced. If you are older like us walking on the beach, swimming, exploring rock pools on the Magnific Rock itself are all excellent. The food is top notch. Lost of breakfast selections, smoothies. Burgers to Lobster at lunch and dinner. I had Lobster, at $24 i expected a half a lobster, but I received 1 and a half! Cooked to perfection on the grill. I love this place and keep coming back. To top it off for an Aussie it is run by Australians and we were offered Vegemite with our toast :-)

Wasted Day

Reviewed By Alton A

There was a rock climbing wall but you couldn't use it. The food was overpriced. The slide into the pool of water filled with debris not exactly the highest moment in life. I would avoid going even for the $10 fee which is reasonable. If you have a kid that likes a skateboard park he might enjoy it.
