Having stayed in the suite room that could easily accommodate four to six people, I was totally impressed by the successful fusion of today's luxury and comfort in all the hotel facilities, while at the same time retaining the authentic historic atmosphere and many elements of a 19th century small town railway station. It absolutely attributed to a very pleasant and comfortable stay. Very well done!I will certainly stay here again when in the area.

Participated in a business/social dinner for about 40 colleagues. We preordered the food however, it took well over an hour to receive our food. Nonetheless, the food was good. I had a small salad with 2 shrimp sticks. It was a lot of shrimp- and it was absolutely delicious! Everyone at my table had done different however all of our comments were the same. The staff was nice and spoke English well. The prices were great and I will visit this restaurant again.

As you drive through the Hunsruck in Germany it will be evident that the whole region is deeply involved in gems, jewellery and mineral specimens, this is because stones and agates have been mined here for maye a thousand years. Should you drive along the B422 from Trier to Idar-Oberstein you will pass through the village of Allenbach and on the right of the road you will see the Hotel Steuer. Attached to the Hotel there is an excellent gem, jewellery and mineral shop, worth a visit even if you are only shopping for gifts. Having been diverted by the magnificent displays (and there is a lot to see) you will be in need of refreshment and sustenance, so call into the Hotel's cafe. Excellent coffee and a figure shattering selection of cakes! Should you really overdo it, a couple of hundred yards from the hotel there is a riverside walk set out as a nature reserve so you can walk it off. Worth a visit!

This steak is so amazing, you will consider retiring in the village just to go here on Fridays. They also have a rack of lamb, and prime rib if you can get it. The other food is really good, too, but who cares about that when you can just eat the best steak you've ever had in your entire life! They grill it on this hand-spun rack over an open fire pit and the service is great.

Located in the Einschiederhof nature reserve and with a restaurant that is only open three days a week, this trout farm serves fish and other foods but the trout is special. I had a light, salad and then blue trout that was perfectly cooked. Service was excellent in the bright, simple restaurant overlooking the trout ponds and fields.

The restaurant is rather small but in summertime thereâs a beautiful garden or biergarten. The kitchen is traditional German, very good at very nice prices.You must try one of the Wiener Schnitzels! Very, very nice.But keep some space for the vanilla ice with himbeeren - if available - youâll like that even more.So if you are a nature lover and have a room at the same adress or you travel to or from Kaiserslautern, take the exchange and have you meal here!

Anke ist eine Gastgeberin mit Herz, Seele und Schnauze auf dem rechten Fleck. Sie ist Allrounderin - sie führt die Pension allein und das mit viel Liebe. Die Speisekarte ist nicht groÃ, doch die Empfehlungen auf den Kreidetafeln machen Lust auf mehr ... wo findet man schon Angebote wie: "Fleisch mit was dabei" oder "was die Chefin selber essen würde"? Beide Gerichte für 10â¬. Ich habe mich für ein Rumpsteak entschieden und wurde nicht enttäuscht- das Fleisch super, die Beilagen üppig und alles sehr leckere Hausmannskost. Hier kehrt man gern ein!

What a fantastic pub hidden away in a small village. Truly worth driving to find. The owners are clearly passionate about their place and it shows in all the details. Very welcoming, good food and a world class whiskey and scotch collection! I was stunned at the amount of whiskeys they have available. I have only rarely seen collections like this, and usually only in major large cities like Chicago or New York. To find this in a small village in Germany blew me away. The staff is super friendly and very helpful. One of the bartenders, Sandra, gave me lots of tips of places to visit nearby. They also have a great outdoor beer garden area to sit at when the weather is nice. Whenever I find myself back in this area, I'll for sure be coming back to visit!

Eine Pommesbude gleich neben dem Ferienpark. Für Vegetarier gibt es ein Gericht: Pommes mit Spiegelei und Salat. Das wär auch völlig ausreichend aber die Pommes waren versalzen und die Eier verbrannt und das Gelbe "durch" (also nicht mehr flüssig). Der Salat war gut. Ãber die Qualität der Fleischgerichte kann ich keine Aussagen machen, vielleicht sind die ja gut...
