We spend some days around Sylvester in this marvelous hotel-restaurant. Besides the very warm welcome and genuine care of the guests, the Kucher family serves some of the most superb dishes. Gault & Millau should test this restaurant again, because 15 points and 2 chefs hats is not enough for the delicious meals served. The gourmet menu is just splendid. We will for sure come back.

A perfect finish of a hike in the neighborhood. The food is extremely tasteful and well prepared. Open to hikers, cyclists and bikers. Low prices, amazing food. :)

Haben uns mal wieder im Gasthaus Schmitz zu leckerem Essen und vorbildlichem Service getroffen. Alle waren mal wieder vom Service, Kochkunst und Ambiente begeistert. Macht weiter so.

This cosy place offer great German dishes at great prices. Service was good and the food was delish. But there's only 1 MAJOR negative. They allow dogs inside. I have no problem with dogs sitting at terraces, but not in a dining area. To me, that is a reason not to qualify this place as a 4 star.

In het hart van de vulkaaneifel. Imbiss met camping voor motorrijders en andere kampeerders (enkel tenten).De goedkoopste camping in de Eifel ! Alle voorzieningen aanwezig. Imbiss eten betekend bratwurst en andere frikadellen op het overdekte terras. De stad Daun is slechts enkele minuten met de auto verwijderd, en ook het hirsch und sauepark is vlakbij. Een zeer interressant adres voor echte reizigers.

We have spent a four day holiday with the whole family in this small great hotel.The hotel is a very nice family owned hotel. The wellness area is great and not very busy (at least at the times where we were there). The area is very nice and we did a lot of excursions during our stay. We had a different dinner menu every night and this is the part we most enjoyed. The kitchen is excellent and the service great.We will surely come back again.

Great location on the lakefront. We had dinner there which was excellent and stopped for breakfast the next morning. Has to be seen to be believed. Everything you could want and all of it excellent quality !!

We'd been here our last visit to Daun and chose to return. The staff are still as friendly and helpful. The food is plain, mostly schnitzel with frites, the only variation being the sauce. Tasty and inexpensive.

People were saying they had the best burger ever in this restaurant. Thats why we checked it out. And..... brilliant! The only burger I ever totally devoured. And it was huge.... The steak was also great. The service was excellent, the wine really nice. Don't skip this place when you're in Daun. Do make reservations though!!
