After enjoying the North Hatley antique show, it was time to find a late lunch. Walking into the village I discovered the Pilsen Pub with both a pub menu and a dinner menu. Ideally situated overlooking the river and lake. There's a large patio at street level where you can watch the world go by, or a narrow deck right at river level and a large upper terrace. The dinner menu looked good and for lunch I ordered the gazpacho ad Tuna Tataki. The gazpacho was cool and refreshing. Perhaps a bit too much tomato, but still pretty good. The tuna was lightly seared, nicely flavoured and accompanied by an Asian influenced salad. Definitely a hit. All washed down by their local brew. Overall and enjoyable meal and relaxing stopover.

Had breakfast here as we didn't want the very expensive (and therefore presumably large) breakfast our hotel was serving. It also had the advantage of opening at 8.30am (these must be the winter hours as the webisite says 7am). It did seem to be the only place open in the village though so we didn't have any other choice.The room felt a bit dark and sparse but it did have a lovely open fire. We both had the Cuban omelette which was very good (though unseasoned) and came with tea or coffee and a small smoothie, home fries, fruit, good toast, jam and some very nice chocolate sauce which was a lovely and unusual addition. Overall a really good little breakfast.
