La Peca

Interesting from an architectonical point of view, Terrace with view of the Berici hills. Creative cuisine with traditional roots. Choice of spirits, cheese trolley, wine list with 1500 Italian and foreign labels.

Reviewed By paulus_diaconus61 - Milan, Italy

La Peca is one of best examples of “haute cuisine” you can have in nowadays Italy. Everything is sophisticated and top level. First of all, the restaurant, modern and beautifully located in the Veneto countryside: you may enjoy a pleasant view of the Berici Mountains from the large windows. Furniture is pure design, with a tasteful combination of several modern designers, including stylish chairs by Philippe Stark. Food is supreme. Difficult to describe the ever changing menu, which ranges from appetizers to primi piatti and includes with the same taste and creativity both fish and meat. We are at the top of Italian cousine and you see it and you feel it. It is also a visual experience. Nothing to recommend in particular, and all to be recommended: how can you possibly recommend perfection? Just be tempted by the set menu “Ore 12” which gives you a flavor of different types of dishes. Wine list is in line with the quality of the food. La Peca is at the top end of the market and does not come cheap. However for the sophisticated traveler with a passion for the haute cuisine it is an experience not to be missed. Simply one of the top restaurants all throughout Italy

Alla Veneziana

Style and elegance come to dinner, here. A refined restaurant where exquisite flavours are to be discovered. A perfect rendevouz for fish lovers along with renowned cuisine from venice, Vicenza and bassano like asparagus radicchio, porcini mushrooms...Perfect ingredients to host your most important events: parties, weddings and special occasions.

Reviewed By MGosselin - Luxembourg City, Luxembourg

Wonderful discovery! Pretty far from the main Venetian cities, the restaurant is definitely worth the trip. The large presence of customers on a Monday evening demonstrates it.
Davide, son of the owner, has been a very professional host and led us with the appropriate pace through what can reasonably be considered as a dream for a fish lover!
We have gone through a long suite of wonderful sea dishes that have in common the freshness and the outstanding quality of their ingredients. Ranging from raw to fried fishes, we went through many variations including sarde in saur and a splendid spaghetti alla bottarga.
The wine list is well made (++), with an outstanding selection of "natural" wines (+++), at reasonable prices (+++). You are offered three possibilities ranging from restaurant to Cafe (++) and the hotel that looks pretty nice if you prefer to stay overnight (+++).
Service was gentle and smiling, attention to the host was splendid. Davide’s wine suggestions were perfect and we ended by a cacao feve tasting and an outstanding rum!
A Brazilian cigar brought the final touch to a wonderful dinner we had the pleasure to share with wonderful persons.
Looks at the photos, no words to add! Just book and rush.
Quality wine producers are in my view the best source when it comes to restaurant. We had the pleasure to join the covibio producers at the end of their Verona's wine exhibition day. It made it easier to taste a large variety of plates.

First time in town for a piano concert and was delighted to find this excellent, elegant, cosy place. The service was impeccable and the staff extremely courteous. Everything I had was fingerlicking good and presented beautifully. The cocoa tagliatelle with lamb ragù and fresh peas was to die for - too bad I ordered just a half portion! The meat and the veggies top quality and the polenta just like home made. Highly recommend it.

I went here for luch yesterday and the food preparation was meticulous, the service was on point and the atmosphere of the restauranct was great. The food was all cooked to perfection and we had a beautiful duck breast, which was skillfully prepared. A quiche we had was fantastic and the ravioli were superb. there was a special bigoli which was also fantastic. Finally, the desserts were delicate and delicious and the preparation and presentation were top class. This restaurant ranks in my top 5 italian restaurants. Bravo

Here we go with another treat...this time heading toward Venice...actually there are plenty of places where to go around that part...I'll be precise then: Molvena in very close to Marostica...a ancient castle with walls surrounding an entire hill...is very nice, plus, every 2 years in August there is a reproduction between two families (live Montague and Capulets, but a little more intellectual...not playing for parties and girls...but a human chess game (in original middleage clothes) to give the princess in wife...to the most intelligent man in town! How romantically bizarre! If you wanna go, next challenge will be August 2018!....anyway...never heard about Bassano del Grappa!? Google it! Is another pearl in the area just few km away...
So...do you like great traditional and seasonal food (cropped few meters away the restaurant...)? Do you like hills and artistic lowland and eventually an escape to Venice (especially if you are driving from Bergami/Milan/Brescia...a stop here is highly suggested)? Do you like middleage stuff, including chess? ...ah! almost forget...if you will be happy with the delicious wine you may thing to stay to sleep...is also a very clean B&B costs around 80€ for a great suite.
Another one quite important...have a chat with Floris...he will be very happy to offer you a great local Grappa after dinner!

We dined here last night and it was absolutely delightful. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and in excellent condition. Signore Guglielmo and Ana took great care of us this evening. He was very detailed in explaining his fresh fish offerings for that night and very patient as I understand Italian but I don't speak it fluently.
He prepared starters of fresh gnocchi in a pomodoro sauce for my wife and a lighty smoked swordfish for me. He also brought a small tasting of the gnocchi for me. Both were outstanding! The swordfish was thinly sliced on a bed of fresh crisp lettuce and drizzled with an olive oil, vinegar and lemon dressing, seasoned with salt and pepper just right. The gnocchi was light, the pomodoro sauce was as fresh and flavorful as we have ever had.
We then had a seafood fagioli soup which included calamari and shrimp, very hearty and tasty. We were getting full and concerned that we would not be able to enjoy our second piatti.
Our main came, branzino grilled and simply served with fresh lemons on the side. The fish was about 2 pounds, so it was a good size for the two of us. The plates were oven-hot and I could still hear the juices sizzling. It was grilled to perfection and expertly seasoned, no need to add anything to it! The skin was crispy, the fish was amazing, even my wife enjoyed it as she is not a big fan of fish. The seasoning, the fresh lemon juice and the freshness of the fish was absolutely fantastic.
We had no room for dessert so we just enjoyed the rest of our rosè and watched the dining room get fuller. Signore Guglielmo and his wife Ana took personal care of everyone. He noticed that I got up to get a look at the fresh fish that he was displaying to a table and then decided to bring the various offerings to our table for us to look at before serving them to his other customers, it was so kind of him to interact with us to that level. He takes great pride in his cuisine and it is obvious how precise he is with his preparations. It was a high level show of great cuisine.
We will be back as we are staying nearby for ten days.

A road through the forest leading up to this heavenly restaurant and Gelateria. It seems to be family run . The owner is a very sweet man who greets you and shows you to your table. Service was impecable as all waiters were kind and helpful. The restaurant is incredibly cute with typical Italian details that you would like. Homegrown ingredients and an excellent artist of a chef presents you with typical dishes . Everything I tried was delicious including their wine.
After lunch , we visited the Gelateria on the ground floor and if we hadn't had so much for lunch , I would have definitely wanted to try some of their artiginal ice cream.
What to say it was a very nice experience for me and I would definitely recomend this restaurant and visit it again one day.

Once in a while, you get very lucky and find a gem. This was my lucky day! Trying to find a restaurant within walking distance from our bed and breakfast, I stumbled upon this jewel. It is a combination store, wine cantina and very small restaurant (about 6 tables)but they serve up food fit for a king! Not only that, we sat in their cantinetta ( small wine cellar) that only accomodated one table. Simone, the owner, was our waiter and he made sure that our evening was very special. First, he brought us the tenderest and lightest fried pumpkin flowers. Then a seafood antipasto with octopus and a zucchini sauce (incredible). Homemade bread with carrots and pumpkin seeds as well as other delightful breads. Our entree was a risotto with porcini and a special cheese from the area. For dessert, profriteroles made in house with chocolate and whipped cream. OMG! This little place is on the outskirts of Bassano del Grappa in Romano d'Ezzelino. If you are ever in Bassano del Grappa, make it your business to go there! Sorry, but some of the pictures were of half eaten food...we got excited and ate before thinking about the pictures but rest assured, they were beautifully presented when they came out. If you are a wine connoisseur, you will love this place as well.
