Visited last night, friendly staff. Cocktails to start if you wish. We had a Moretti real ale 7.2% proof !! Decent prices and food was very good. Not much choice in the vicinity but this place frequented by the locals and worth a visit

When asking for the menubook, the English speaking cheff said they have no menubook, only serving a 5 course menu for â¬40, we took a menu for â¬25 with dishes from the chef's choice. Most of the dishes were fried and in comparison relatively expensive for its value. When local visitors arrived they were given menubooks. I consider this very unfriendly. The waiter was very friendly, otherwise I would give it 1 out of 5.

Restaurant chosen on the basis of the positive reviews read on this site, but the experience was deluding. None of the several mussels and fish plates we had was excellent, just average indeed, from the tuna to the mussels saute, from the 'tagliolini' prawns and lemon (maybe the worst plate of the dinner) and the 'risotto pescatora' to the 'rombo with potatoes' (strange enough, potatoes were a part). Just desserts were good, but not justifying the high price paid for few plates, even if quantity of portions were satisfactory.

We were visiting relatives in Rome and they treated us to a meal at this restaurant. There was ample inside seating but it was a beautiful night in July 2016, so we sat at one of a dozen or so tented areas outside. The tents were far enough apart that the effect was quite beautiful as you could see, but not really hear, the other guests. I am not really sure how the order for dinner was placed but something like "bring us your usual" was told to the waiters. The service was impeccable. Soon after our arrival the first dishes started arriving. Most of the first course was ample servings (family style) of fish (salmon, shrimp, crawfish, scallops, anchovies and several other fish) served ceviche style along with raw oysters. There were many different preparations of how the fish was served alongside other ingredients (as in a salad) but the visual effect was as stunning as the taste. The fish was (obviously) very fresh and the taste was like nothing I have experienced. I think this is the first time I have eaten more than a bite of fish prepared this way and certainly have not seen this range of fish on menus in the USA. This course along took about an hour to serve and complete, and in the USA, the meal would have been complete. It was delicious. The second course was pasta with different seafood added, my wife and I asked for gluten-free pasta and this was not a problem. The pasta was served in a tomato sauce that was delicious and loaded with shrimp, crawfish, scallops and other fish. Again this was delicious as well. They were very accommodating for the kids, bringing some more kid-friendly food, but my 12 year old daughter learned that she liked anchovies, if they are like they were at L'Altra Tappa. The kids had dessert that looked wonderful but the adults were tapped out on the meal. This was one of the best meals I have ever experienced and it was a real treat. It is worth looking at the website --- the pictures give you an idea of the meal. The website is written in Italian but pictures day a 1000 words. This restaurant is a bit southeast of Rome, but it is a great treat.

The only problem about this restaurant I've found, is the new address...Indeed I tried 2 navigators but to find this nice place I had to call, then everything was very fine. The two guys working there are very smart and kind: I've tried a very good starter with fish, and gnocchi with fish. Both meals were fresh, and very good, so I really enjoyed this meal, and yo can definitively go to La Coccinella and have a very nice lunch or dinner. I was there for lunch during a business trip, and waiting time has been onyl as just needed to cook with fresh infredients.

We were staying nearby at a B&B and our host strongly recommended this place. We were not disappointed. The locals all go here, it was packed and for good reason. Food was stunning and authentic. I had mozzarella and prosciutto to start, then an amazing pasta dish with a truffle and sausage sauce. My wife had a huge salad with grilled veggies and grilled salmon. Also had dessert (by an award winning chef), coffee and homemade limonecello of course. Our waiter was happy to speak with us in English and was lots of fun and really helpful. Best waiter I've had the pleasure of being served by in a long time. In short, if you are in this area, you have to go here.

Cucina italiana, pinseria, carne chianina, pesce fresco, locale adatto a banchetti e ricevimenti. La nostra struttura sita nel centro di Ciampino è facilmente raggiungibile dall aeroporto. Abbiamo convenzioni con strutture alberghiere e servizio taxi.
We were here on our last day of the holiday, staying in a hotel ,handy for the airport and this restaurant was recommended by the hotel staff. It was frequented by locals and was rapidly filling up. I had marinated salmon as a starter which was light and refreshing then a wonderful plate of calamari. Pizza and pasta is second to none in Italy but it was great to see fish on the menu at a reasonable cost. I , now, would also advise people to stay in Ciampino and visit Rome as it is less frenetic and cheaper.
