I called in here, as it was near to the apartments where I was staying. I previously thought that it was impossible to ruin Italian food but they managed it here. Bruschetta al tonno was dry bread with a bitter-tasting tuna paste. Terrible! The scalloppina were OK but very bland. The head waiter was fussing around people he obviously knew and didn't even wish me a "good evening" - the waitresses were good, however. Very attentive. I ate in the gazebo and this meant that the manager allowed people to smoke, presumably because it's "outside" but it wasn't really. It was terrible, having smoke wafting into my direction whilst eating. I'm sure the locals love it but as a tourist, avoid it.

Freddie Knows Food recently took a much needed vacation to the beautiful country of Italy. It was my first visit to Italy, although I have loved the food and culture of Italy from afar for many years. I love Italian cuisine, and I was determined to find a quiet little trattoria, away from the tourist areas of Rome. I wanted to dine where the Italians dine. I wanted authenticity. Well, I found it at trattoria Olimpia. An Italian friend drove me and two travel companions to the outskirts of Rome to this little jewel of a restaurant. The building itself was a bit unassuming on the outside, but the inside revealed a beautiful little restaurant, filled with happy people talking and laughing, having a good time with their friends and enjoying their meals. Judging from the happy sounds of the people and the wonderful smell coming from the kitchen, I knew then that I had found the promised land of genuine Italian cooking. Our group ordered the antipasta, a pizza, and pasta with truffles. Each item was superb! I have dined in and written food reviews for quite a number of restaurants in the United States, and dined in many restaurants on my vacation in Italy, and the dinner at this trattoria was the best I have ever eaten. This trattoria is the very best of what Italy has to offer. Delicious food and friendly people who make visitors feel welcome, trattoria Olimpia will capture your heart. I love this place! I am already looking forward to a return visit to trattoria Olimpia!

We (foreigners living in Rome) were at Ikea. We had seen the restaurant already before but had never tried it. Our first experience today was a nice surprise. Two first courses (artichocs in Brik dough and polenta maccarons) were smashing. One would not expect this close to a cheap furniture shop. Pasta Amatriciana - also nice. The BBQ ribs were fresh and juicy. One might - as the Americans do - boil them before putting them on the grill. This makes them more tender.Wine in the glass - excellent and not the 'house wine' one often finds in restaurants. All in all - a very nice place for dinner.

Came here following a recommendation from our B&B host and I wasn't expecting much to be honest. Man I was wrong! Everything was delicious. The sausage was fantastic. The green pepper filet was the best I've ever eaten in my life. As I was eating it I felt like crying from how good it was. Price fair.If you are in Ciampino and like meat do yourself a favour and come here.Graziee per la bella recensione ,Allora arrivederci al prossimo viaggio in Italia ..A presto Daniele

It's been a wonderful lunch. The beef is superb, the family who runs the restaurant is very friendly. The great thing is that one can even chose the meat that will be cooked for them. Just make sure to specify how well cooked you like it.Another awesome thing they offer is a fried potato with cheese and black pepper (caccio e pepe). My wife and I liked a lot the fact that none of the food served there is cooked from a frozen state. It's all fresh. Also, it's very easily accessible for baby carriages (or wheelchairs) and very family friendly infrastructure-wise.

Wonderful, authentic Roman food. Perfect pasta and grilled meats. I highly recommend the Carbonara and the Cacio Pepe.Just around the back of the airport in a quiet neighbourhood, it doesnt look much (will be refurbished shortly) but the food is absolutely first class. The crowd is mostly local workers and business people, prices are very affordable.

We were made to feel very welcome. The bread and nibbles which were brought to our table on arrival were tasty. The mixed antipasti starter was ok - just could have had more flavour and seasoning. Our pasta main courses were OK too - retrospectively (having eaten in several other restaurants in Rome since this visit), it wasn't at the highest end of the scale of tastiness or quality. The house red wine was amazing value and very drinkable. Portion sizes were generous.
