Despite visiting Argegno often over many years, this was our first visit to the restaurant. It is set high on the hillside above Lake Como, with a terrific view. The restaurant is attractive, with pleasing ambience, and the welcome was friendly. The menu had several interesting variants of classic dishes - we greatly enjoyed a risotto with soft cheese and nettle ice cream, which worked well, and tagliata of beef - very tender good quality meat, cooked to perfection. The wine list was good. Service was excellent. And the price seemed very fair for the high quality.

This is the most intimate and romantic restaurant I've been to in a long time. The menu is totally in Italian and the waiters have the most rudimentary command of English. Here though, the food does the talking.Somehow, the chef seems to have been taken by foie gras. An entire page of the menu is dedicated to duckâs liver dishes and it features on quite a few of the main courses. Foie gras is of course utterly sublime and the fillet steak topped with pan fried foie gras was out of this world.My wife and I were totally blown away. We were taken to this restaurant by an Italian friend who lives in the area. It's his favourite place to eat and we were very impressed with the whole experience. The food was quite adventurous for Italian country cooking. They obviously use quality local ingredients to create some exciting dishes. The restaurant itself is very attractive, like a mountain restaurant but more sophisticate with nice glass wear, tablecloths, lighting etc. A return visit will definitely be on the cards.

First, this restaurant is needlessly pretentious. Second, the two other guests at my table ordered the tasting menu. I did not like all the options on the tasting menu, so I told the waiter, that I would order the same amount of courses and if he could please pair wine as well. He agreed. That is not what happened. While I was the only female at the table, I was given one glass of wine and treated with an air of snotty contempt. The food was just ho hum. It was not creative. It was mathematical in its presentation. Safe but what you can get at a multitude of other restaurants. I will say that the view is wonderful. But for almost $700 for 3 people, save your money. It is totally not worth it. We took the walk along the lake to Gandria and came upon this little cafe by the lake that was the only one open on Boxing Day. To our delight we were warmly received and had a very pleasant lunch. The food was simple but well cooked and reasonably priced.

In hindsight we should have ordered pizza as when other customers received them they look amazing and when you go in the restaurant you can see the dough being made and the pizza oven is at full view. Alas I had pasta which was tasty but not mindblowing, my husband had a mixed grill which was good value with lots of meat. The outside eating area is atmospheric but it's a bit of a shame you overlook the car park and a building site on the opposite side of the road. When we visit the area again in the future we will go here again but no doubt go for the pizza's.

May 9I knew this resto would be a highlight. Our only Swiss lunch at a tiny locanda owned by Davide Crobe, originally from Sardinia, who has personally made his mark in a village overshadowed by Lugano. He stopped by to greet us.As we were the first diners, we could have any table including the few on the terrazza overlooking Lake Lugano, but rain threatened. The fresh persico fillets were outstanding while my wife had the ravioli. The food was delicious but the price was dear at 64E, but this locale seemed exceptional.

We reserved a table based on reviews we had read and were not disappointed! The proprietor was very helpful with helping us understand the menu which was written in Italian. The menu options were relatively limited but there was something to please everyone's palate. Two of our group chose from some Summer changes to the menu and were pleased with their meals. I chose the nettle ravioli which was the perfect choice for a light lunch on a hot day!

We came to celebrate a friend's birthday and ordered the 'terroir' tasting menu featuring moist sweetbreads, a lemon/bay leaf risotto, fork-tender venison and flaky prune tart. As one would expect from a 1-star Michelin establishment, this menu was accompanied by a parade of spectacular 'entre-mets' to delight and cleanse the palate. The atmosphere is relaxed with a spectacular fireplace and the service is friendly and efficient. A memorable evening brought to us by the talented, young chef Edoardo Fumagalli. We Are frequent costumers of the Sassa main Restaurant and for a quick and healthy lunch after gym we decided to have an avocado salad with shrimps at the Bistrot. The service was very professional and the food was delicious! Itâs a great option for a casual and tasty moment
