A beautiful evening with great, personalised service but more importantly - outstanding food. The menu isnât huge and overwhelming, split into two sections it offers a âcityâ option and a âmountainâ option. A split of typically traditional dishes you would find in the city and then dishes specific to Bologna region. Absolutely exquisite.

I never realized how important Bologna is on the Italian food scene until I visited there recently. It's the epicenter for many popular pasta dishes, so this place did not disappoint. I had the tortellini in broth (a local specialty) and it was perfectly cooked and tasted delicious. My husband had the bolognese which was super tasty. Our waiter was charming and attentive and answered all our questions. He recommended a lovely local wine and then gave us our choice of grappa or limoncello on the house.

Very nice welcome and after an Italian explanation of the handwritten menu, the cook came from the kitchen to give an English explanation. The food is prepared with a great eye for detail and tastes very good. Little surprises completed the dinner. The place is well decorated and for sure worth a visit.

We came for dinner on our first night. The staff speak English which was a great help and the menu was in English. We asked them to help with some more local wine choices which they did with pleasure. I had fried cheese balls/mushrooms followed by tagliatelle bolognaise - our first night so I had to - and the pasta was cooked to perfection. My wife had the veal special - delicious but I donât eat veal so thatâs all I can say. We shared a local dessert with a cream custard which wasnât to our taste. All of the food was beautifully presented and not expensive. Highly recommended.

We went here with a business party for dinner. Food is very good, the tasting menu a little overwhelming in quantity, albeit very good quality. Atmosphere is very pleasant, service absolutely professional and friendly. Just finished our second meal at this restaurant, have only stayed at Bologna for 3 nights. We just had to return after our first visitThe husband and wife team who run the restaurant were very welcoming and the food was excellent. Fantastic wine and great service,cannot fault this place. Not much to look at from the outside but full of charm inside. The owner welcomed us in and was passionate in his explanation of all the dishes. Service with a smile, freshly cooked pasta, authentic local food and wine. Pasta dishes â¬9.50-â¬12.50, meat courses a little more. Great value and quality - but get there early as booking is difficult and it fills up fast!

We come here when we want some him different from the usual sandwich or panino and you have plenty of stuffing to choose for your tigella.You can choose among the "standard" combinations proposed by them, or make your own, or slightly modify one of theirs (as I do).My favorite is the Tigella Vegana, but instead of the artichoke cream, the tuna cream (it's kind of a paradox, I know, but I'm not vegan and the things go on so well together!). TRY IT!We tried so many ones, and never got disappointed! Our team thanks you very much for your review and we are happy that your experience at Tigellona was so positive. Had a mixed cheese and meat sharing plate and was amazing in quality, taste and value. The panini and everything else that left the kitchen looked really good too. By far the best place Iâve eaten so far in Bologna in every sense - quality, taste, value, atmosphere and service. Will be back.

We ate outside in this small restaurant in the historic district. The pasta dishes were the winners. My wife had vegetable lasagna which should be shared and I had tagliatelli with sausage. Both were great- in fact my pasta was the best I ever had. Next I had the veal special which was a little tough and my wife had chicken with herbs.We finished with a delicious custard dessert. The waitstaff were pleasant and attentive.
