Shelter, Soak and Slow Down...In the South-eastern sweeping side of Siargao, Isla Cabana sits idly waiting for you to shelter, soak and slow down.

Paradise in Siargao

Reviewed By KatAlonzo

Went here with my husband, MIL, and 3 kids. We super enjoyed our stay here - Our cabana is big and has complete amenities, the food is good at Isla Cusina, the resort is big so my kids enjoyed running around and they enjoyed swimming in the pool. Isla Cabana has two pools so it didn’t get crowded. The entire resort was new landscaped and we definitely felt we were in a paradise. I already expected the slow wifi internet because of the other reviews so I just used my phone’s data. I almost didn’t book this resort because of the negative reviews here but good thing I listened to my friend’s rating (she rated this resort 5/5) over the reviews here in tripadvisor. I actually didn’t understand the negative reviews because we really had a great time at Isla Cabana, I can say that it’s kid-friendly too. If we’re going to go back in Siargao, we will definitely stay here again!

Alumbung Tropical Living

The Alumbungs is a small tropical garden approximately 25 minutes away from Tagbilaran and three minutes ride from the renowned Alona Beach. The special shape of the villa and cottage roofs is derived from the typical Balinese Lumbung structure where the upper part of each hut served as a rice barn and the bottom part as a meeting place for the family. This is the perfect place for family vacations, honeymooners or for people that just want to relax.

Las Cabanas Beach Resort

Hesitant to post this but for the sake of other travellers

Reviewed By HanCMD

Initially I was hesitant to speak up due to the help the resort provided to my mom by preparing the oxygen tank. However, after many shortcomings, I think I need to speak up so that other travellers will be aware of what is the issue with this hotel First, we are supposed to be booked on April 9 to 13. We are initially informed that the pencil booking already is ok at the email. But we are "FORCED" to rebook 1 week after our scheduled booking due to "safety issue" to their preferred date when we already informed them 2 to 3 weeks prior. We were answered with high tone from the manager from a phone call. As a compensation, we were given a discount of only 500 pesos per night and given additional special food in our first day dinner wherein we paid 1200 per head for the buffet. Second, upon arrival we expect the hotel's location to be at the nearer side of the transfer. I specifically informed the admin that we have a senior citizen who is having difficulty in walking and needs wheelchair and asked them if it will be hard to transport her. I was informed that it will be OK since there will be staff who is going to carry my mom to the hotel. I was shocked upon arrival that we have to transport our mom approximately around 1km to 2 km walk from the transport area. I didn't expect this to be far. If I was informed beforehand I shouldnt have book this hotel. Moreover, we were put in a rm 2 when rm 1 is nearer. It has 3 steps, stone walk, and another 5 to 6 steps before the rooms door so I'm wondering how is this senior friendly. Third, upon arrival at the hotel, we were asking for service water but we were informed that there is no service water, only bottled water upon request and one of them was even charged to us at a high rate (80 pesos for 1 liter of nature spring). Inside the hotel room, you would expect toiletries being provided since you pay almost 5k a day for an accommodation but the toiletries are incomplete (no toothpaste, no toothbrush) only bath soap and bath shampoo and rolled tissue. The toiletries had to be repeatedly requested again. Also there is no water heater, only cold shower. When we request for a kettle we were provided with a thermos for a hot bath. Also, there is no wifi as previously stated during our time as well. They did not also prepare the van so the accommodating staff need to book us another van from her known people which made us pay extra fees incurred upon our arrival in manila. The booking confrimation in agoda says it includes airport transfer. I was really hesitant to tell this review since some of their staffs are accommodating (especially the guys that helped bring my mom to the transport area and Ms. Anji who visits my mom often when we leave her alone in the room and helps my moms needs) but due to the call that I received here in Manila incurring extra charges, and mostly due to the unwanted treatment and mislooks in our stay, I need to speak up so that other travellers would also be aware I had visited El Nido prior but stayed in an inn in a town proper prior. I expect the price to be a bit high since the hotel was located in a slightly secluded area. However, never did I expect that the service provided in the previous inn was far better than this one given its cheaper price (with complete toiletries, with hot shower and towels) for only almost 2k a day Sayang because the area is really beautiful but we made a wrong hotel choice

I stumbled across Amphibi-KO while in Coron and popped in to ask for prices to do my Advanced PADI course and was drawn in by Anthony (instructor) and his girlfriend. He was passionate, patient and engaging. We spent 2 days diving incredible wrecks and learnt lots of additional skills outside of what was required (night diving and nitrox). Anthony was unfortunately unwell on day 2 so Lloyd took us out instead and we had a similarly great time.

Amazing staff and clean, comfortable accommodation

I stayed here after being stuck in Caticlan due to ferry being cancelled because of Typhoon Ursula. The beach cottages were lovely and clean, comfortable and in a very quiet area. Tragically the Typhoon had a devastating effect taking a direct hit and I was woken to the sound of roof being ripped off my cottage. Immediately the staff were grabbing me, my suitcase and rushing me to the main building putting themselves before me. For 12 hrs we are sheltered in the concrete building watching the Typhoon flatten the area. I can’t praise the staff enough, in the middle of chaos the staff were making us carbonara for lunch, themselves not knowing whether their own homes still standing. I really hope they can rebuild and I highly recommend this lovely homely accommodation at amazing value. Thank you everyone-you were amazing

Sea Turtle House

The Sea Turtle House Beach Resort is a resort for nature lovers and its rooms are located around 9 meters over sea level and is therefore very safe from tsunamis. It has stairs and handrail for to go down to the sea. It has a self made sand beach with beach volley ball, badminton and other games for our in house guest's free use. It has a great view to the clear blue sea. The difference between high and low tide here can vary vertically more than 3 meters depending on the position of the moon. The sea here has some very unique little animals because it has been reported that it was closed on its sides naturally many, many years ago. That's why some scientists are planning to study the phenomenon under sea level. From our sea shore of limestone with corals and sandy areas you can often observe sea turtles, especially when they swim up for air. The resort offers fresh air and tranquility for a great night sleep. Experience snorkeling, scuba diving or free diving. Just a short walk away you find also the well known White Beach. The resort has a size of around 5000 square meters (one of the largest resorts here) - that offers a lot of space, garden and possibilities for just 7 guestrooms and the resort practically has no neighbors - and most rooms have even built in noise reducers. These are great advantages in a lively country like that. The manager/co-owner of the resort loves the place so much he would never want to stay anywhere else.

Needs Help

Me and my family stayed for 5 nights and were highly disappointed in the overall condition of this motel. The bathroom smells like someone urinated on the walls when we arrived. I’m pretty sure the bed is 20 years old and you feel the frame with every toss and turn. We were told we were suppose to checkout before our time was up which is unprofessional. They require a deposit of 1,000 pesos for renting the snorkel gear. They claim the deposit is for the upkeep but the snorkel reeks of mold and funk. They obviously just want the cash. They claim to have life jackets for all the guest which is a lie also. Political pictures also shouldn’t be present when you visit a hotel. Many people don’t align with your thoughts so you should keep them to yourself. Obviously you aren’t from the USA so you have no clue what is going on there. They overbooked guest and was forced to kick guests during my stay. The worst this was terrorist propaganda that I read in the welcome area. I’m well aware that bad things happen in P.I. But I feel they print this to deter you from using different options for tours, transportation etc. Don’t be fooled. Stay At your own risk
