Superb fillet steaks (perfectly cooked), tender lamb shank and duck breast enjoyed in a very pleasant atmosphere by friendly attententive staff. A perfect evening and quite inexpensive. Travelled for over an hour and stayed overnight for this. Highly recommended - we will certainly return.

Open for Lunch & Dinner Everyday.
We popped in from Salema and weren't disappointed!
A lovely small bistro hidden away in the back streets.
Wonderful food, my husband had the pan fried foie gras and the confit duck and said it was the best food he's ever had in the 10years of visiting Portugal.
My lamb was fab.
A very hard working couple with lovely service and attention to detail.
Merci x
We will be back.

Excellent grilled fish
This was the first time that I ate in this restaurant and it won’t be the last. From the quality of the food, to the first class service, it was the best that I have been experienced in Alvor. Steaks were cooked to perfection, delicious pepper sauce and home made cheesecake to die for! Nice little touch of a complimentary port given with the bill. If only all restaurants were as good as this one. Highly recommended!

Outstanding restaurant - best in the area by far in this busy little village.
Fabulous decor and utterly charming and efficient front of house staff.
The menu is imaginative and varied but not too big.
Our party had four different dishes and all were very good.
Highly recommended.

Had a lovely meal sat outside watching the unique barbecue reminded me of a blacksmiths forge. I had the flaming salami starter and the Mrs had the mushrooms, for mains I had the meatballs and my wife had the sea bream all excellent. Ken the owner is a real character and loves his music. We got chatting to the couple on the next table after our meals and Ken spotted this and bought us a round of drinks..cheers!
Well worth a visit.......

Closed for holiday until mid january
We agree the food and service were excellent. I had the filet steak and it was cooked perfectly and both flavorful and tender. I was thinking I couldn’t order steaks here as the few I did on this trip were not as good as we get in the States, but this was and the sauce was perfect. A glass of the house wine was very good. Evening started with an amuse-bouche of tempura shrimp with chili sauce. Yum.
The decor is dated in a “beachy” pastel way but not offensive. Nice views and light and airy atmosphere. Servers professional and courteous. Everything you’d expect with fine dining except the bill was quite reasonable. I think you’ll really like it.

New this winter - Nothing fancy - just great comfort food cooked to order. American style pancakes - plain, chocolate chip or blueberry. Full breakfast from 3 to 5 Euros. Milkshake or bloody mary. Eat in or Takeout.
So glad to have found this little cafe/bar, very small but will return again. very friendly people, had a great breakfast last Saturday morning (21st October) Wish we found it before going home, but will return, not just for breakfast but other meals.!! If its busy wait outside its worth waiting.!!

This was our first visit and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Obviously very much patronised by the locals with a real buzz to the experience.
I had the meat kebab and my wife had the sea bass, both of which were very good. The Seating was at long trestle tables, creating a friendly mix of people.
Service was quick and efficient, my wife being shown a red card for daring to ask for ice cream with her carob cake! Excellent party piece by the waiter (see photo).
We will definitely be back.

Caseiro has been a family favourite for years. Quality of the home cooked food has never changed and the family continue to serve a loyal group of regulars. The service can be slow but the food is all made to order. Wonderful value, and although it is very rustic with no thrills it is perfect for a family mid week meal. Book in high season as the secret is shared by many. Try the meatloaf or stuffed peppers which are amazing, the steaks are also good and the hand cut chips to die for! We drink the house wine here which works, no thrills but great food at very reasonable prices.

Churrasqueira's are unique Portuguese chicken bars, selling chicken! Which some earlier reviewers may not have comprehended. Amores is the best in the Algarve! Home made and hand cut chips, served with really fresh salad and the most delightful bbq chicken. Individually excellent but together are sublime. Small canteen style restaurant, spotlessly clean with three generations of the same family working together. Cannot recommend highly enough. Lunch for two, with beers and half carafe of rose, less than €23. So don't forget value for money!
