I sat down, I ordered something to drink, and then a I waited.... and waited... the shift changed, and I waited, and then after 30 minutes someone asked me what I wanted to eat. So much for organization.The schnitzel del Sol was not so bad, but why is there so much sauce on my schnitzel. I love sauce as much as the next man, but the first thing I did was shoving it from the meat to the plate. Way too much sauce...

I was taken to this restaurant by a Spanish friend and was very impressed by the freshness of the food and how delicious the seafood was. We started with thin slivers of Spanish ham and homemade bread. Then a huge paella appeared which was full of seafood, shellfish, white fish and chicken. Is was so tasty. As it was a hot summers day we sat outside and could see the canoists go down the river, the boat dock and pick up passengers and dog walkers pop in for just a coffee. All very relaxing. There is a formal dining area inside the restaurant or a relaxed outside terrace over looking the Ruhr river. The chef, Luis Alvarez also does private parties and he came this month and cooked for a group of friends British, American and Spanish. He created 3 courses, Spanish ham, followed by fish and shellfish. We had a spread of marinated tuna and salmon, muscles, scallops, stuffed lobster, languistines, gambas and homemade bread. Then seafood paella. We had wine from Galicia which was perfect with the meal. Definately my best Spanish meal ever. Thank you Luis and the lovely Camilla who looked after us so well.

Kaffee und Espresso aus eigener Röstung werden hier exzellent und mit viel Liebe zubereitet und in stilvoller Atmosphäre serviert. Sehr empfehlenswert für alle Kaffeeliebhaber, die hier noch etwas lernen können. Die Beratung ist einfach top! Die hausgemachten Kuchen in Bio-Qualität runden den Besuch ab.

Es hat schon lange gedauert, bis wir dieses Restaurant endlich mal besucht haben. Wir hätten es viel früher tun sollen.Mit seinem Angebot liegt das Wittener Restaurant schon sehr an den portugiesischen Originalen. Fisch, aufs Wesentliche reduziert, ohne viel "lästiges Drumherum". Fisch vom Grill mit ein wenig Beilagen - alles vom Feinsten. Wer es anders lieber mag, ist hier nicht richtig aufgehoben. Geschmack ist und bleibt unterschiedlich.Sicher, Umgebung und Ambiente sind gewöhnungsbedürftig. An der Umgebung kann man nichts ändern, das Ambiente hat einen rustikalen Charme. Es ist einfach und zweckmäÃig. Und seien wir mal ehrlich. Die meisten guten Restaurants in Portugal zeichnen sich nicht durch ihr Mobiliar aus.Der Service an diesem Abend war sehr gut. Flexibilität bei Extrawünschen war überhaupt kein Problem. Wir haben uns als Gäste sehr wohl und gut aufgehoben gefühlt. Freundlichkeit fällt eben immer wieder auf - nämlich positiv.Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder.

No parking lot but a need to book a table in advance. The reason is simple. Outstanding quality of food, beer, wine and interior appearance. Telling the waiter about an allergic problem with balsamico made him bring the sauce for the steak. Just tobtest it. It had no balsamico in it but was similar in texture. Outstanding service. All menues are awesome! Great steaks, but also great vegetarian dishes. And great aperitifs.
