The service was great and the hostess was very attentive. This is a German establishment located out in the German countryside, consequently, the hostess does not speak English. She was very patient with our questionable or altogether absent German skills, but after all was said and done, we were able to order.The good was tasty, and it was clear from the moment the side salads came out, that we wouldn't leave there hungry.I had a turkey breast dish with mushroom sauce, It hit the spot. It was, unfortunately, served with French Fries, however. This was probably a miscommunication due to my lack of German speaking ability, but I was expecting or hoping for something a little different when asked if I wanted potatoes.The atmosphere of the restaurant was rustic. It fully satisfied my desire to dine in an authentic German establishment.

In Witten angekommen macht das Restaurant von aussen eher den Eindruck einer Bierkneipe. Innen sind die Tische schön gedeckt und rechts neben dem Haus ist ein Biergarten.Rasch bestellt, gut bedient worden und gute Preis/Leistungs-Qualität.Gerne mal wieder!

Dinner with a colleague.Place appears nice, but soon we have got a problem: language. Nobody of staff speaks English, except the new young waitress. No English version menu available.We thanked her so much, otherwise it would have been impossible to order. Anyway, food was good (coffee apart).Right prices.Second problem we have got: payment by credit card not available. It is very strange in 2016....fortunately we had cash money enough.On the whole, my opinion is quite positive, but they have to improve something....

This is a lovely old castle turned to a beautiful restaurant! :) the food is superb! Service is amazing! :) the price is quite on the high side but worth it! Perfect for wedding, romantic dates, proposals! :)

No parking lot but a need to book a table in advance. The reason is simple. Outstanding quality of food, beer, wine and interior appearance. Telling the waiter about an allergic problem with balsamico made him bring the sauce for the steak. Just tobtest it. It had no balsamico in it but was similar in texture. Outstanding service. All menues are awesome! Great steaks, but also great vegetarian dishes. And great aperitifs.

Hi all,I occasionaly eat French fries here for 20 years and I absolutely recommend to do it too. In my opinion Eddi and his son makes the best French fries in the world. When I only think about it my mouth starts watering. This smell, this taste and the warm spicy sauce are undescribable. Taste it, enjoy it! Hhhhmmm! Yummy!
