El Lazo

We had the most wonderful food and wine at this restaurant. It doesn't look anything special from the inside, however once you venture into the restaurant itself you'll be treated to a fantastic choice of food and wine. If we ever return to Dusseldorf, we will most certainly returning to El Lazo. Please do try it if you like good quality steak and a nice choice of wine.

Los Chicos

Arrived late from all day traveling and we were starving. Los Chicos was recommended by hotel staff. Even though it was late, we were welcomed like if it was our home. We were looking at the menu and the owner just said, I'll bring you the good stuff and removed the menus. I clearly said I didn't want the most expensive thing in the menu. A few minutes later appetizers were served and it was amazing but then the meat, prepared at the table with heated butter it was to die for. Wine, also selected by owner was perfect for what we ate. bill came later and was actually cheaper than what I expected. Highly recommend this restaurant if you are in the area.

A very warm welcome from the attentive and professional (multi-lingual) staff. The atmosphere is relaxed and typical from a Spanish tapas bar. The choice is wide and you are always well advised by the waiters. Service is fast and efficient. Excellent tapas !

Another great restaurant we heart of in Oberkassel / Dusseldorf. Spanish cuisine, not expensive and lot's of choices. When we passed the first time, it does not scream at you: Come in! But the reviews and recommendations were good so we had to try it. It was still cold outside and as soon as you come in you feel the warmth and cosines of the place inside. Now I prefer sitting in the back, close to the kitchen, but be aware, it gets hot here so even when you come through out the winter, make sure you put layers on, after a while you sit here in a T-shirt. The booths in the back are perfect for a family or group of friends of 4 - 6 and you right away know it will be a great evening. The menu offers something for every liking, no matter if it's fish, lot's of fish, meat or vegetarian. The portions a fantastic for the price you pay and the food is uncomplicated, tasty and fun. Don't expect fancy food, gel and pipettes rather food made at home, bold flavors and sizes which sometimes don't leave space for dessert. Try all kind of prawns...BIG YUM...the service is fantastic and you will enjoy looking at them...the restaurant is full, you won't have a lot of waiters, so don't come here, when you are in a hurry, but everybody knows what there are doing. Sometimes you won't see them for a while, but as soon as you see another amazing dish leaving the kitchen, you waiter will be there for you again. Now, in the summer time, you have the choice of sitting outside as well. As already mentioned, it isn't the most prettiest restaurant but the food is therefore even better. To spend the evening with your family and friends, enjoy a glass of wine of two, or three with some great flavors, this restaurant is fantastic. Located a bit away from the Luegallee, you won't find that many "walk in" guests rather people which know this place and people enjoying a bit of Mediterranean flair in Germany. We will be back
