Restaurant Stuckgut

We ate here on Monday whilst staying in the area. The place itself is really nice and very traditional too. The food was exceptional and such good value. The only little negative is the fact you can’t use a credit card, which for a restaurant isn’t ideal.

Gaststatte Cologne's

When my hotel recommended Cologne's for a light evening dinner, I was expecting an old-world-style pub, with dark rooms, paneled walls, and beer signs on the walls. Nothing could be further from the truth. This is a sleek, modern bar-restaurant, with a patio outside and two dining rooms inside. It has an extensive menu - all in German, although the staff was great at translating - but the mid-week specials (a kilo of shrimp on Tuesday; all-you-can-eat ribs on Wednesday; and a selection of schnitzels on Thursday) was the most interesting. Being Thursday, I opted for "Paprika-Schnitzel"; it can with a sauce that could have passed as a Chinese-style topping, but with its shards of pepper it was an excellent accompaniment to the hefty cut of meat - which, by the way, was perfectly prepared, and served with a plate-full of fries that would have been a meal by themselves.Paired with a local Kolsch beer - brewed in the restaurant;s namesake of Cologne - it was perfect. And I forced myself to eat the tiramisu (I am a tiramisu fanatic) afterwards; it, too, was a credible offering.I must add a special comment about the young blond lady who served as both greeter and waitress; she was great. Between my frail knowledge of German and her efforts at English, we navigated the menu and found the best options for dinner. I would definitely return!

Great steaks, lamb, and also pasta dishes (this is what we decided to order, but I'm sure other dishes would taste lovely too). Fresh salad bar as an addition to each dish. Pleasant service. We wanted to come back the next day, but it was too busy! Good advise is to reserve beforehand.

Lovely new restaurant overlooking fields and valley - superb! We ventured off the main trail to this restaurant due to a family name connection. To be honest, I was expecting something older, but pleasantly surprised. It has both indoor and outdoor seating, and on such a fantastic day we sat outside overlooking the fields. Food was superb (I had the Pffaffenberger of course) while the mrs had fish. A couple of glasses of wine & beer, while our son played on the kids playground they have made for a fantastic Tuesday afternoon. Afterwards a walk through the adjacent woods to cap it all off.

I eat here 3 or 4 times per year and the food is always outstanding. Be prepared to wait as everything is prepared from fresh but is well worth the wait. Price is not for every day dining but then for this quality you would not expect it to be.Highly recommended!

Wonderful place at the end / beginning of a walk along the Korkenziehertrasse. Staff are always smiling and friendly and happy to cater for special requests. The portions are very generous, the food well-cooked, served hot, and delicious! The WCs are a bit old-fashioned but clean.

One of my favourite places in our region. They have kept up their brilliant service and choice of dishes to please every taste and pocket.Consistant excellence. Quite rare in our declining standards of gastrinomical service. The Solingen-Gräfrath historical market square is on the doorstep and can be enjoyed from their terrace in summer or from their window tables in colder climes.
