We were guests at the Lakeside hotel, so for convenience we had the buffet dinner here. For Rs 1500 it was worth paying that little extra (compared to some tourist buffet restaurants) for a much higher standard of food.We were pleasantly surprised by the spread and quality of the food. There was an international spread and an equally wide Sri Lankan spread. The wait staff were very friendly and polite.Not sure how much it costs for a non-guest to dine here but if you are staying a night here, we highly recommend you try their buffet dinner. It's much better than what you'll get out there in the other tourist spots in Anuradhapura.

We had dinner here since we were staying at the "lodge". The menu has all the usual suspects. We went for our fail-safe veg fried rice and veg fried noodles. The taste and portion size was below par with what we had over the last 3 weeks in SL. Juices were not too bad though.Service was good, however, since there were only 2 other people there!It's a decent option if you, like us, are lazy and can't be bothered to head into town to find a better restaurant. Dear sir,We welcome your all the ideas about our meals and everything. It was a really Pleasure being that short period of time with you. Hope to see you again.Thank you Kindly.

It was well past 4pm and we were exhausted after a strenuous climb to Sigiriya Rock and visits to several stupas and other monuments in Anuradhapura. That we had hardly slept for previous two nights did not help either. We had not yet tasted Sri Lankan food in the couple of days we had spent in the country. We apprised our driver and he stopped at this road side place a few kilometers out of Anuradhapura. The place Is not much to look at. Only a couple of tables and a few chairs adorn the interior. Like an Indian dhaba. Lunch time was long over. We were famished and simply fell on the food which was out of the world. Fried fish (fried whole) needs special mention.Totally exhausted, it did not occur to us to take photographs.
