Comfortable and fresh design with modern furnishings, fittings and appliances. Suited for couples and small families in an affordable price range with a choice of apartment options from studios, 1, 2 and 3 bedrooms.

The rooms have absolutely everything you need on your ski holiday: a fully equipped kitchen, a washer / dryer, quality linens on a comfortable bed and a great bathroom. The very best part of the Snow Dog Niseko is the reception staff, who are absolute stars: Knowledgeable, friendly and very helpful. The location is absolutely perfect: Not too far from the lifts and close to the Black Diamond Lodge. I look forward to going back one day!

Reviewed By MjartbeeIt was more than I expected in terms of the facility, the breakfast, the interior and others. The only area that I felt needs to be improved was the service by the staff because most of the staffs seemed junior from my perspective. However, among them, Rob Hutchinson at the door desk and Lashan Perera at the lounge bar were especially great and I really appreciate their meticulous care for us. You may remember their name and ask their support if you need any tips during your travel!

Fantastic view, average hotel
Reviewed By thatsfreshWas in Niseko for the first time for a ski trip and decided to stay at Kanro due to decent reviews on Agoda. However we were not impressed by the service as none of the hotel staff could speak fluent English. Only a couple of them could manage simple English while the rest didn’t understand at all. They do have a few staff from China so good thing we spoke Chinese. Hotel guests are mainly Chinese tourists and local Japanese people, which explains why none of the staff spoke good English. Breakfast buffet was good but dinner buffet was quite a disappointment with very few choices and mostly cold dishes. It is located 10mins drive away from Annapuri ski resort and 30mins drive away from Hirafu welcome centre. There is free shuttle bus service. We didn’t mind the distance since the hotel is very close to Moiwa ski resort (3mins by driving) where we spent most of our time at. Ski rental at hotel is cheap but equipment is dated. I even found a used plaster in a pair of gloves I rented. Do not recommend renting your equipment from the hotel at all. And although there is a ski centre at the hotel next to the rental shop, none of the staff could speak English so we had to book our ski lesson through the Chinese staff at front desk. Rooms are spacious and clean however not so sound proof. During our stay we could hear our next door neighbors talking and their baby crying. Did not use the hotel onsen but I heard it is good and famous for making your skin beautiful. Lastly we really enjoyed the view at the hotel restaurant. Amazing winter view of the woods and hill which made our stay worthwhile.

Great ryokan with perfect service!
Reviewed By tr239902We stayed at the hotel for 5 nights with our two children. The hotel is located very nicely within the forest next to a river and is stylishly designed. The Japanese breakfast and kaiseki-type dinner was amazing - every dish was great, creative and tasted fabulous! The staff was really helpful, friendly and professional and did everything to make our stay as good as possible. We visited the hotel with our two small children and the staff did a great job to accommodate us - for example, they prepared the favorite Japanese food for our daughter and served it in the room so that we could bring the children to bed before going to the restaurant to get dinner ourselves. Afterwards, they even called the room to check if she liked it and if they can improve anything for the next night. Overall excellent service, even by high Japanese standards. We can fully recommend to stay at this great hotel.

Reviewed By kazy2for snowboarding. this hotel is located in ski area. but 100m away from ticket center. and if the upper lift closes, you can not access to village, hirafu. we missed bus from airport to niseko area because of flight delay so we had to rent a car. thats why we could drive to village. hotel was ok. but not luxually type. felt kinda over paied. they have a restaurant lounge which is used for breakfast too. there is no bars and izakaya near here. i recommend go out to hirafu or village, kucchan. honestly i would choose other hotel next time.

Moiwa Lodge is a large Japanese ski lodge, with 4 stories of facilities, including: restaurant, ski room, drying room, TV's and DVD, pool table, large comfy communal areas, wireless internet throughout, traditional Japanese bar, and games area. The lodge is slopeside in Moiwa and a free 3 minute shuttle to Annupuri - giving you access to the entire Niseko area.

This year was my fourth year at Moiwa Lodge and I am consistently impressed. The staff consists of mostly native English speakers and a few really awesome Japanese locals. They are all always so incredibly cheerful and eager to help whenever they can. Yukari, the superhero cook, makes huge breakfast every morning. Like a hotel breakfast but WAYY better! Four to five different types of homemade bread, plus eggs, bacon, sausage, cereals, juices, loads of coffee. I usually didn't even need lunch after stuffing myself. Dinners are between 1,000-1,500yen, reasonably priced and totally worth it. Yukari, again crushes it with a variety of authentic Japanese meals. Nao, the bartender, is a backcountry guide during the day and has fantastic advice on where to ride if you need it. Or you can just walk up about 100 steps to the Moiwa lift and realize there's powder everywhere and no lift lines. From Moiwa you can also ride over to all the other resorts too so you never actually have to take a bus. If you're a work-traveler like myself, there's plenty of spots to work from within the lodge. Internet usually works great except sometimes around dinner when everyone is at the lodge sucking data. Also the wifi in the dorm rooms on the bottom floor can be spotty. But when the rest of the lodge is so relaxing and comfortable, you really don't spend too much time in the dorms. Although the beds are quite comfy as well. The entire lodge is very well equip as well, from shampoo and laundry soap to backcountry gear rentals. It's clear that they've though of everything you could ask for. Overall Moiwa Lodge is, in my opinion, the definition of "great bang for your buck". Depending on the room(s) you book, it can be more expensive than other places in Niseko but 100% worth every penny (or yen). These people know how to run a lodge and make you feel very welcome.

She and the other staff members made me want to recommend that everyone stays at this hotel. The facilities are nice and clean and itms walking distance from Annipuri. Hope to come back soon! Amazing, traditional, outdoor hot spring (the best feature of the hotel), wifi was okay, and free parking it is available in front of the hotel. Good location near annupuri ski resort. Big hotel, not so quite, with large groups visiting the hot spring. Bad small in the common areas, room quality could be better (old hotel)
