Beach house hide away

Reviewed By Glenda B

There's nothing nicer than listening to waves crashing through an open window at night. This sweet little guest house sits on the edge of the ocean about 50 mins by cab from Naha. It has nice clean rooms, a high ceilinged common area with beer on tap, comfortable outside deck areas that overlook the surf (and some of those ubiquitous concrete groins common to Japanese coasts). Breakfast is typical of a guesthouse in Japan; fruit & yohurt, soup, egg, salad and seaweed. Good coffee! Sadly, the steps that used to go directly to a private beach have been washed away making it impossible to access the water from the property. Two bikes are available at the hotel for use for free.

Homely, cosy, warm.

The host was extremely hospitable, and his dog, Nagi, was lovely as well. Being very close to the ocean, we enjoyed a short run to the nearby park in the early morning and took in the fresh sea breeze - perfect start to a great day!

Spice Motel Okinawa

This building, built as a motel when the U.S. was occupying Okinawa, was renovated by an architectural design office. Now, we run this boutique motel ourselves. We are centrally located on the main island of Okinawa, where Japanese and American culture are mixed with each other. The best spot for the beach, the city and shopping of Okinawa! Double, twin/triple bed rooms and also a original room which is renovated in the image of the motel at the time of 1970's are available. For travelers, long-stay visitors, or even locals looking for a casual stay, please use SPICE MOTEL OKINAWA as your favorite hide-away home.

Vintage and great value!

Reviewed By Maggie W

We stayed at a double bed room. The whole motel is just as you seen on pictures, vintage and simple. The parking garages were only set for certain room types, our room locates on 2nd floor, so we didn't get a garage to park, and need to walk on stairs to get up and down, which was perfectly fine for us but I can see how it'll be really inconvenient for people travelling with kids and large luggage. The lady at the check-in counter speaks fluent English and super helpful and friendly. The location is a bit out of no where, but it should not be a problem if you rent a car. There's a huge mall AEON close by. The bed was a bit hard for us, but we're soft bed kinda people. Overall, it's still a pleasant stay for us.
