Most Popular Thai food in Islamabad, Islamabad Capital Territory, Pakistan

Reviews on Thai food in Islamabad, Islamabad Capital Territory, Pakistan. Serving as the capital of Pakistan since the Sixties, Islamabad was built according to a carefully organized plan, divided into sectors along a grid of clean, tree-lined streets. The city is sheltered by the Margalla Hills, the foothills of the Himalayas and the home of rare species of leopard, deer, birds, and even porcupines. Several hiking paths end at Daman-e-Koh, a picnic spot with a splendid view of the entire city, including the massive modernist Faisal Mosque and even the Rawal Dam.

Had dinner once at the Royal Elephant which is the Thai restaurant at Marriott Islamabad. The restaurant is fairly well decorated although it was realistically too dark for me to see anything clearly. Ordered 3 dishes with steamed rice and had myself a decent meal. The green curry chicken came in a small bowl but there was lots of chicken inside and the taste of the curry pretty good. The stir fried mixed vegetables was the only vegetable dish on the menu and it was quite alright too. The last dish was a sliced fish with spicy sauce and that dish I quite liked. I found the flavours to be around 80% to what I could get back in Singapore so was happy enough. A good place to dine when one is overdosed with the local barbecue or curries.

Wild Rice Restaurant

Wild Rice is a far eastern restaurant at the Serena Hotel in Islamabad. They have a blend of chinese, japanese, malay and thai cuisines. The menu isn’t meant to be extensive and traditional rather than fusion. I had the duck and thai lamb curry and grilled prawns. The lamb curry was bland and extremely short of pleasant but the other items were delicious. I wouldn’t care to visit again as I’m sure there are more exiting places in Islamabad, At $35 per head its a pricey joint.

Asian Wok

We have been to this restaurant many times and the found the quality of food quite good. They have a good variety of Chinese and Thai dishes on their menu. There buffet has a good number of dishes on the card. However, we did observe that their Chinese and Thai dishes are not very different ..... so you might find the Chinese with a bit of Thai touch and vice versa. The ambiance is good. The restaurant is usually overcrowded and the overall environment is quite noisy. Not a very cheap restaurant, it will cost you 1200 to 2100 per head, depending on the menu. There is not dedicated parking for the restaurant one will have to use the parking of Beverly Center which might be a problem during rush hours. We are glad that you're our regular customer and enjoy your experience every time :) We do not serve buffet other than Ramzan. We would definitely like to know your suggestion on how to improve our taste on your standards. Looking forward to serving you again!!

It's a new restaurant that specializes in Thai food. Ambiance and decor is impressive. Not a very big place but nicely organized. As for the food, they offer a good range of Thai food. Cooking standard is reasonably good. We tried their prawn pad thai and Chilli & Tamarind and found both of them well make. Service is good.
