We dined here with 2 families of 4 and everyone loved it. The food was faultless and reasonably priced. Its difficult in Nozawa (in January at least) to get restaurants for 8 people so try to book in advance. We popped our head in a couple of days before and secured a booking.

Nice little restaurant with a seating area with tatami mats and tables where you have to take your shoes off and a bar area where you can sit and watch the sushi being prepared. Mostly traditional sushi on the menu that is freshly made and tastes great. Reasonably priced and can get busy.

The sushi chef here is meant to be excellent. I thought the sushi was great, but a little heavy on the wasabi (Japanese friend agreed). The shabu shabu is a bit boring but that's the dish, not the execution - just a warning to probably not bother with that unless you love it. Friendly service, good variety of food and big dining hall. I'd definitely go back.
