Find out what Spanish restaurants to try in La Colonia Tovar. Colonia Tovar (English: Tovar Colony) is a town of Venezuela, capital of the municipality Tovar in Aragua state. Founded in 1843 by a group of immigrants from the then independent state of the Grand Duchy of Baden (later incorporated into Germany), it is characterized by the maintenance of the cultural imprint of their origin, so it is called "the Germany of the Caribbean". The economy depends primarily on agriculture and tourism; and the town is located 42 km (26 mi) from Caracas. The Colonia is known for its temperate crops (peaches, strawberries, beets, cauliflower, carrots, cabbage, chard, broccoli, lettuce, onions and potatoes) and their derivatives. Since 1990 it has shown a high rate of population growth, rising from 3,373 to 21,000 inhabitants in 2016.

Dopo un periodo piuttosto esteso a Catia la Mar abbiamo deciso di interrompere la dieta a base di pesce e di andare a mangiare in questo ristorante che già conoscevamo. Una conferma con un menù piuttosto ampio. Per curiosità ho provato anche della trippa ed era ottima. Abbiamo comunque provato dei filetti di pesce locale ed era freschissimo. Si possono gustare le birre di qualità superiore della Polar oltre ad altre birre e vino. Ottimo i succhi. Imperdibile il casabe (kassava), il pane degli indios, in versione gourmet!

Service is always very good here. The waiters are long lasting employees, very dedicated to their business. The bar is very nice and on Thursdays there is a great ambiance for after hour drinks. Totally recommended for business meetings and to invite international invites that stay at the renaissance hotel right beside this nice steakhouse.

This restaurant is just 100 meters away from La Bokaina and the chef Carlos is also the chef of La Bokaina. His running this restaurant during evenings and it is great. Carlos' from Equador and he is often mixing Caribbean style food with a Equadorian flavors. You have to try his ceviche which is truly world class.He also makes great drinks. His Pina Coladas is to die for.The prices are also quite low considering the quality of the food (especially if you get a exchange rate on the black market).Highly recommended!

Been there several times. Very good seafood, specially their paella and seafood rice. Wine selection is OK. Good decoration. Decent desserts. Live music, but don't allow dancing, even when they're playing salsa! Good for family, business and group meals.

This Spanish restaurant still have the best fideua (Spanish style seafood pasta) in town, but the surroundings of the restaurant has deteriorated the past years. Now, there are lots of flies inside and the cleanliness of the restaurant has gone a little below expectation of a luxury dining place.
