We had eaten next door the previous day and wanted to try somewhere different. A new place had opened the night before. We thought we would stop in for a lunch time drink. Check out the menu and see them later. We walked in and were totally ignored. I discovered how invisible people are treated!! So we walked out and remembered Pho Bien next door. Walked in,servers all smiles. Sat us down, ordered drinks. They brought us the food menu and bowls. I got out Google translation and told them it was just a drink and we would be back tonight. We went back in the evening. I ordered clams with lemongrass and basil, divine. Then we had beef with vegetables which was stir fried greens and beef, very tasty. Also yellow noodles with stir fried food. Basically seafood. Excellent dish and lots of it. If we weren’t so greedy we could have got away with just ordering two dishes!!The young servers bring round big cube shaped ice cubes and pop them in your drink and then come back again take it out and pop another one in. I said to my husband we are being treated as locals. To one side they have special areas for parties of diners. The seafood is all kept in fresh aerated water at the back of the restaurant. We were brought a plate of fruit to finish. With 6 tins of Saigon Gold beer the bill came to 500,000 vnd. £15.00. A total steal. I put in my Google translate what a wonderful meal we had had and how good the staff were on my way out.
