Po Klong Garai Cham Temple Towers

The site is located not too far from the train station of the aptly named town Thap Cham (Cham Towers). Entrance fee to the site is 15,000 VND, scooter parking is 5000. There are three reasonably well preserved/restored Cham towers on a hill. The 3 towers are differently shaped and the hill provides a nice view of the surrounding landscape.
I'm not sure this would be worth a long drive (~50 km) but it's a great excursion if you're in Phan Rang - Thap Cham already.

Phan Rang Beach

A great beach, frequented mostly in the early morning by locals. The sand is brownish and VERY fine, which results in a slightly muddy look of the water. So don't expect the white sand/turquoise water tropical paradise look of your travel catalog. But the water is perfect even in January. There are two resorts scattered on Phan Rang beach while numerous fabulous dine-on-the-beach seafood places can be found on neighbouring Ninh Chu beach.
Nice and relaxing

For me, the answer is a resounding 'Yes!' This place is absolutely fantastic:
1) The strongest, most consistent wind in South East Asia. For two weeks, it blew 18 to 40 knots every single day, with low-gust conditions almost every day. Check out the historic wind data, and you'll see few places in the world have wind like this.
2) A 500m-wide reef that has plenty of space and flawlessly flat water for Freestyle and learning. (Of course, nowhere is perfect: on some days, the tidal range means that the water in the lagoon is quite shallow—knee-high or lower.)
3) Nice, big waves. When the wind picks up, the swell is 2–4m, and breaks all along the reef. There is also a downwinder that passes through a reef that shapes the swell into a nice clean left.
4) The center is well managed: the owner and the school manager are both themselves passionate kiters. The manager has a lot experience in running kite centers, and is dedicated to helping kiters and beginners find their stoke! His positive attitude is infectious, so both the staff and guests at the center tend to be friendly and chill.
5) The instructors are great: experienced, conscientious and communicative.
6) The design of the center is absolutely spot-on. Everything is exactly where you would want it to be: showers, toilets, chill space, gear storage, and restaurant.
7) The food is delicious! Try the chicken soup.
8) The Center's membership fee and rentals are priced reasonably.
9) The celebrities and billionaires that stay at the nearby ultra-lux resort know that this area is one of the most beautiful coastlines in the world. Visit Phan Rang Kite Center and you will know this too.

Phi, Rachel, Ty and the rest of the team are super-organized, cheerful and helpful, anything you ask them will be promptly dealt with. Thank you guys!
The food is great, the spot is a unique combination of flat and waves. No chop! (Shallow flat until you reach deeper waters, so, not suited for foiling.) Among the very best spots in the world around Christmas time, if you like 25+ knots wind. I hope I have a chance of going back soon!

Nam Cuong Sand Dunes

Reviewed By Nadezhda D
