Lokeren (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈloːkərə(n)]) is a municipality located in the Belgian province of East Flanders. The municipality comprises the city of Lokeren proper and the towns of Daknam and Eksaarde. It is located on the Durme, a tributary of the Scheldt, and is the second most important city of the Waasland after Sint-Niklaas. Mayor Filip Anthuenis ( Open-VLD) was elected for a third mandate during the elections on 14 October 2012. Horse sausages are officially recognized as a regional specialty of Lokeren.

We arrived at this Tavern/Restaurant late afternoon! It was a very sunny day and we were lucky to find a place outside, with a great view to the lake. We had some drinks and a 'Croque Monsieur', which was very good value for money! Service was friendly and speedy!

Went over to have dinner with family following recommendation local friend and was more than pleasantly surprised of how great everything was. Although at first the menu seems limited, it's actually very well balanced. I would like to compliment the wine list. Again the prices may seem on the high side but actually for what's on offer comparing the same wines from other wine lists in other parts of Europe they are actually very reasonable. Thank you Alex and the team I look forward to coming back soon

Amazing and savoury lunch for a group of 16 people which is always more difficult. Tasty carpaccio without the usual synthetic truffle oil. Delicious and juicy pintade. Magnific dessert. Very gentle staff.

Always busy in 'taverne oud gemeentehuis' and the customers + rumours were right..good service & nice price setting. Menu with focus on grill but plenty of other things (pasta/wok/fish etc) are available. no hesitation, I would certainly go back, actually I did already a couple of times - no nonsense brasserie with good price/value choice of dishes and friendly service ... will go back and back ... lots of parking spaces as it's located on the main square

At Fridays the restaurant offers a very special menu atâ¬78 (apero, wine and coffee included)The "amuses bouche" and the dessert is almost the same for several months or even years but the other dishes are alvast very delicious, according to the season. You won't be disappointed when you choose this menu. Value for money.
