The municipality comprises the city of Lokeren proper and the towns of Daknam and Eksaarde. It is located on the Durme, a tributary of the Scheldt, and is the second most important city of the Waasland after Sint-Niklaas. Mayor Filip Anthuenis ( Open-VLD) was elected for a third mandate during the elections on 14 October 2012. Horse sausages are officially recognized as a regional specialty of Lokeren.

De lunch was perfect en zeer prijselijk ! Eerlijke grondstoffen en dat tikkeltje meer ! De champignonsaus was heerlijk, maar men kon ze tellen ( graag iets meer champignons) . Soms was het verloop aan tafel wat warrig. Maar al bij al top!

This restaurant is situated in a very beautifull little village. Not only the place itself but the food was excellent. Fresh and very nicely presented. This is the type of restaurant we surely will come again.

This very small restaurant serves special, Belgian dishes. Service was good. They arranged an extra vegetarian plate, even though we only made a reservation for one.Prices aren't too bad. The portions are pretty big, so you won't be hungry afterwards!I loved the interior with old pictures, household items etc.You wouldn't just pass here, but it might be worth a little detour.

we had the dinner menu (38 â¬/p + 14 â¬/p for accompanying wine).The starter was simply fabulous, lots of great tastes.As aperitive we took the organic sparkling wine, a nice discovery (30 â¬/bottle, 7 or 8 â¬/glass)The white and red wine served was ok, and the staff was generous and kept coming back to fill the glasses.The main dish was ok, but less of an amazing surprise than the starter.I had cheese as dessert (+4 â¬)

We've dined at Vienna with friends from Lokeren several times while visiting Belgium and each time the food has been delicious. The dining room's relaxed ambiance is inviting. Very easy to have good conversation while dining - not too loud, perhaps because of the high ceilings. The sole is always excellent and I ordered a pasta with mushrooms this time and loved it. Presentation of food is thoughtful and portions are generous. The chef seems to make a point to come out into the dining room toward the end of service to visit local friends and greet those who are still around from the last service. Nice tough, nice guy, very good food!

At Fridays the restaurant offers a very special menu atâ¬78 (apero, wine and coffee included)The "amuses bouche" and the dessert is almost the same for several months or even years but the other dishes are alvast very delicious, according to the season. You won't be disappointed when you choose this menu. Value for money.

Always busy in 'taverne oud gemeentehuis' and the customers + rumours were right..good service & nice price setting. Menu with focus on grill but plenty of other things (pasta/wok/fish etc) are available.
