We have been there twice already. Location and food are both very good. But, you would expect that a certain quality of service would come along side we the prices they charge. You can’t charge 80 NIS for small pan of sea food (3 mussels, 4 shrimp and 3 calamari) or $40 for the cheapest wine and have your waitress/waitresses/cooks seat in front of u, smoke their cigarettes and then touch your food again without even washing their hands. Disgusting!!! You’re either a Greek taverna with laidback atmosphere and fair prices(good option) or you are playing the fancy game with steep prices but provide service & hygiene accordingly.

Out of 10 times i visit this city, around 6-7 is specially to visit this place. Here are just a few reasons:LOCATION: Perfectly located 15 meters from the water, the place offers tremendous view of the sunset. You can also chill inside with your laptop, while your girl is getting her sun bath.FOOD: It is tasty beyond any words. More than that, the place adds new meals or changes existing ones every season. It is truly a restaurant with dignity and approach. Loved their carpaccio, mixed seafood were amazing too.DRINKS: a classical vast choice of drinks and cocktails with a few interesting twists.SERVICE: outstanding. If you've been to Israel - you know that proper service in this country is a prerogative of overpriced premium venues. So this one was a surprise. Very friendly and warm service in a reasonably priced place. Respect!CLEAN: In spite of the beach, sand, wind - the place is still very clean! Another surprise! ATMOSPHERE: a separate thanks for the music that is always great and appropriate for the place, weather or time of the day!Generally - this is my favorite place to eat in Bat Yam. HIGHLY recommended!

The Old Man and the Sea

Ernest Hemingway's 1952 novel The Old Man and the Sea depicts the world of a poor Cuban fisherman who fights the wild sea. These elements of sea, fish and noble nature have also inspired the establishment of the well-known restaurant on Jaffa's Kedem Stre

I would not recommend this establishment. While the location on the sea port is beautiful and the array of salads in nice, this place is a definite tourist trap. They don’t serve you nicely, and the food is not outstanding. The best parts about this meal was seeing how the servers stacked the dishes and the location on the water. Given the amazing food available in Tel Aviv, don’t waste your time here.

Have been there quite a few times. If you choose Thursday or Friday night, expect a slow service (mainly because of the kitchen's ability to get orders out when its full). So if you can try to arrive in a different day of the week. There is always parking arround the area whithin 5 mn walk. other than that, you should expect quality ingredients, precision in cooking, and simply stated- tasty dishes. Usually the first courses are better than the main coursrs. Original dishes, nothing over the top, but still very good combinations. There is a slow rise in prices, which makes me lower my grading.

Until we discovered Abdu we had been generally disappointed with restaurants in Tel Aviv, suffering overpriced tourist food with poor service. So glad I checked TripAdvisor and we found this place! Attentive, friendly and competent staff, delicious salads and seafood and huge portions. So enjoyed our garlic butter prawns, calamari - the best I've had in years! - and small fried fish that we went back the following night and shared a delicious large fish. Simple pricing - 98 shekels each when we were there for all you can eat home-made salads, followed by a platter of seafood then coffee with baclava. Best value meal we've had in Tel Aviv by far and so much better than the trendy places down by the flea market.

A good, but not truly excellent, seafood/fish restaurant on the beach For views, dine there before sunset. At night you know you're nearby the beach, but it isn't that obvious unless you sit on the patio. The dishes were well prepared and there's a variety of mediterranean style flavors. The small salad dishes and bread are also good. My waiter was quite knowledgable on the wine list and provided this solo traveller with some good suggestions of wines by the glass. The restaurant was busy with locals and tourists alike. There was a buzz to this place which is nice. It was a very pricey meal however.

Fish

I have never been to this restaurant before but my son recently moved to Rishon from Tel Aviv so we set him the challenge of finding us a local restaurant that could match some of the amazing places in Tel Aviv that he took us to.He did not disappoint us as it is one of the best fish meals I have ever eaten anywhere. This place has been around for a long time and having now eaten there I can see the reason for it’s longevity. There is a great selection of fish cooked in different ways on the regular menu and they also had a number of specials. The starters we had were all excellent. We had fish kebabs and a mushroom carpaccio both of which were warm and big portions. For main course I had sea bream fillets on a mushroom risotto and my wife had sea bass which was cooked with vegetables and a slightly spicy sauce, it was one of the specials. We shared the dishes and both were delicious. Beautifully cooked fish, the mushroom risotto with mine was great as were the vegetables and sauce with the special. We were quite full but decided to try a couple of desserts. The summer berry knafeh and the warm chocolate brownie with salted caramel ice cream were both worth the calories. We also had a bottle of Israeli white wine with out meal. The service was excellent, friendly and professional but not intrusive. It was not cheap, about £50 a Head including service but as a treat was well worth it.If you get the chance you should definitely give it a try.I would not hesitate to go back again but am waiting for the next local place that my son wants us to try.
