This place is our favourite café and restaurant in Halmstad. If you like good home cooking, this is the place. They don´t have so much to choose from, because the kitchen is so small. But their "krögarbiff" is totally wonderful. And nothing beats this 1700s atmosphere. Summertime the outdoor seating is very nice. The location is very central, but still away from the noise. A great place to relax. The staff is the best!

We stayed at Hotel Tylosand and this is one of the two restaurants there. We travelled with kids and they had a childrens buffet that consisted of spagetti, pancakes, chicken and meatballs and lots of greens, and the quality was very good.I liked the ambience, the huge lamps from Louis Poulsen did really make it special. Our waiter was a friendly man and we ordered the seafood salad for a starter and the menu had some suggestions for a wine. He recommended that we should try Per Gessles own wine "Sommartidar" and we had a glass of that. The wine was excellent with the starter and he also recommended that we tried another wine that Per have chosen (I do not remember the name anymore, but it was a red wine). We ordered the steak and the meat was a bit disappointing, but the sauce and onions was excellent - so it did not matter that much. For a dessert, I had a chocolate cake with nuts and that was awesome.We got the food very quickly, and the meal was very good even though a party of 50+ guests arrived when we were almost finished - I left a large tip and will recommend to go here if you have kids or want to spend more time partying, but there is also a gourmet restaurant next door.

The open sandwiches served here are better than in Denmark, so it is really a must when in Halmstad. But since the place is quite small, the purpose is more of a take-away restaurant. There are plenty of sandwiches to choose from. I prefer shrimps on egg and roastbeef, but of course it is individual. Not so expensive as one could expect.

Fantastic setting by the sea in Tylösand, book early to get the best tables as it will be very busy in the peak season. There are two seatings, 18.00 and 21.00. Service was excellent and all staff had a smile on their face.Ingredients were good but fish was a little under seasoned. The prawn and crayfish soup was excellent.

What was once a part of the hotel is now a separate restaurant. We were a group of more than 20 people and should celebrate an anniversary. We got the larger room a little indoors, for ourselves, and it was a perfect size. Really high class in the laying of the table, the service, and the food. If trying to find something that was not good, it was limited space for hanging your coats, and it is not a place if you have a strict budget.

Was seated and waited at least for 10 mins until somebody came to attend to our orders. Our food came almost 40mins!!! We had to ask and remind the waiter/waitress about our order.Staff seems overwhelmed with the number of guests coming in to be served. Staff is pleasant but not service oriented.Not a cheap place to eat, which is not a problem but would have expected a bit of more better service.

A small casual Bistro along the waterfront that posts its selections on a chalkboard. Orders are submitted and paid to the cashier. Your order is served to the table at which you are seated. For lunch there are soups, salads and a few hot or cold entrees. The selection is limited but all so fresh and well prepared. Surprisingly I had one of the best mushroom soups ever.

We had a meal with our customers and found the staff very helpful and attentive. They were also very knowledgable about the menu, and helped my guests out with a good selection of meals. The food itself was excellent, as was the wine. I will definately be visiting again, when next in town.

I walked in that place with some business friends during a stay in Halmstad. Seen the place before and wanted to try something different so we went in, Menu looked promising and when entering it was a pretty cozy and nice atmosphere. All looked very nice and its not one of these overcrowded and noisy sites. You feel welcome and somehow at home - like a place for fine dining.What I highly appreciated was the perfect English speaking waitress and the English menu. Not a standard in Halmstad and in some places I had difficulties before making an English order. Not here. Perfect!The food unfortunately not that perfect. Dishes are Asian style. For my taste too much spices and garlic. Not hot just too much. Less is more counts for garlic, soja sauce and pepper. Everything else was fine and we had a nice dinner here, But if I go again I need to talk to the chef before :-).
