We enjoyed dinner on a Thursday night and tried the basket of garlic prawns as a starter. They were excellent! My partner enjoyed his clubhouse sandwich and salad. I had a salad with my Philly Steak sandwich.The food was delicious, the service was friendly, the atmosphere was great.We will definitely return when passing through Merritt.

My husband and I have been to the Grand Pub for their buffet breakfast and really enjoyed it, however, yesterday we went back to the pub and decided to order Nachos with an extra order of "spicy" beef. We were both extremely disappointed, there was not a lot of cheese, the beef was sparse and not in the least bit "spicy". No jalapenos, it was not a large portion except the plate it was served on was dinner size sitting on a charger plate. Our server did not return to see if all was OK so we just ate it. Told the server when paying, was given a 10% discount. It wasn't the money that counted it is the quality of the food being served. This was just plain not good.

Finding a decent, and open, place to stop can be challenge for a traveller in Merritt. We found the Middlesboro Pub quite by accident and were very glad that we did. Located just off the north exit to town on Hwy 5. Turn left towards town and then exit right on to the service road at the DQ. It has an old sign, but this is the place.Large, bright, standard decor pub. Sort of a western, sports theme. Clean. Good parking area.Excellent and very personable service. Good specials with an adequate menu. Reasonable prices. Both my wife's and my meal we rated to be excellent. Filling and enjoyable. We were very glad to have finally found a good place to stop in Merritt particularly because it's a long drive from Hope to Kamloops or West Kelowna and a perfect place for a rest.Try this place. It's worth the stop.
