Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu (French pronunciation: [sɛ̃ ʒɑ̃ syʁ ʁiʃəljø]) is a city in eastern Montérégie in the Canadian province of Quebec, about 40 kilometres (25 mi) southeast of Montreal. It is situated on the west bank of the Richelieu River at the northernmost navigable point of Lake Champlain. The results of the 2011 Census stated that the city's population was 92,394; the number of residents was estimated at 94,636 in 2014.

If you're familiar with shawarma and shish taouk you know that it can be dry sometimes, its not the case here. The meat was juicy and tasty, there is a nice selection of salads and I could eat their seasoned potatoes all day. The patio has room for around 20 people and can be noisy depending on traffic on the boulevard but if you're used to eating in the city this won't bother you at all. The staff is very friendly and will take the time to help you make your selection if you are not familiar with any of the dishes. Pricewise they are fairly competitive with the chain restaurants so you can have a nice big plate for 10$-14$. Easy to find as it is just a couple of minutes from highway 35. If you are looking to get a quick bite before heading to Vermont this would be an excellent alternative to your standard burger and fry joint, plus you can eat healthy.
