Eat at your friends home. The warm welcome, a glass of prosecco, bread. Franco then proposes a menu. Fresh, light and refined matching products with unrivaled Italian taste. Homemade pasta, fresh fish and butter soft lamb. In addition, he advises perfect fitting and great tasting wines. An unforgettable evening.

Fine Secolo is the most popular Italian restaurant by locals in this area. With friends or families you go to Michele and eat some of the wonderful dishes on offer. Very friendly service, authentic atmosphere and always crowded. So don t forget to make a reservation!

This family run restaurant offers very good choice of italian pastas, pizzas and house specialities. All in great, family like atmosphere and for affordable price. It is especially nice to sit outside during warm summer evenings.Lunchtime deals are great, but prepare to spend there around an hour.

This is a nice restaurant with friendly staff and good food. It does, in my opinion, lack some atmosphere as it's a little stark inside; it doesn't "feel" Italian.Otherwise as a traveller here on a quick overnight it made for a good solo dinner.

I went here several times last years while visiting my sister. The building is a bit hidden away from the street. Like other reviewers mentioned the atmosphere is more casual.Downstairs they offer large tables for groups and upstairs a bit more usual restaurant like setting. Certainly this is a perfect place for large groups or family with children, because no one will bother about the noises since it is already noisy anyway.I ordered here once pasta, but that was a slight let down since it was not anything special ( my pasta with mushrooms had no fresh mushrooms). But the pizzas are big, thin/crispy and the topping is good. The wine selection is decent too. Since this summer they offer also homemade ice cream, but there are certainly better gelato to find in Essen.

We went for a salami with spicy salami, capers and a LITTLE garlic. We got a regular salami pizza with capers but TONS of garlic.Overall quite average - the pizza reminds me of something from the 1980s.They also don't do any lunch deals, and the water is quite expensive.

Due to doctor's order :-( I had some grilled veggies, salad and salmon dish. Not orgasmic but very nice. Great expresso and good service. I think the location makes the difference, it is a great outdoor place with healthy food, a rarity in Essen. Worth trying.

Cozy restaurant with modern interior. Food was very good. Service was fast at the beginning, but as soon as more guests were coming it became much slower although restaurant was not really full. It was almost impossible to make additional order and we were waiting far too long for our bill.

We went here yesterday and it was disappointing compared to the very good references on TripAdvisor. The special wines on the blackboard arenât good. The bottle isnât shown and all wines taste like mud. We tried them all... We should have chosen the pasta with fish because with fish, it wasnât possible to serve pasta. We got a small plate for almost â¬30 with a few potatoes and rice. Too much money for that! Desserts were great, but we were shocked we had to pay â¬200 in the end for 4 persons. Donât go here, too much of a rip-off.
