Celebration! My husband and I chose this restaurant because we had read good reviews about it. It was our seven year wedding anniversary and we were staying overnight at a local hotel to celebrate. We didn't want to eat in the hotel and so we decided to eat at Pronto. We chose the meal and cinema ticket deal because it is good value. My meal was tagliatelle with chicken and my husband had a chicken calzone pizza. Both of us were happy with the taste of our meals, although when my husband took the rocket leaves off his pizza we could see the top was a bit burnt. But he was ok about that. Our waitress was friendly, but when I asked for a wine list she did not have one. It appears that there is not a wine list available for diners. I was asking if they had Chianti, (as that was my favourite red wine when I lived in Italy for 4 years), but the waitress didn't seem to know this wine. It was really no problem though, as I just asked for a glass of house red wine, and she said that they definitely had it. We also had a waiter to bring our drinks the second time, and he was friendly too. We will recommend this restaurant to others and we will return in the near future. It was a nice experience.

Plenty of choice for ice cream in a great location. Nothing much to say about it apart from the fact that the nice weather and the good terrace helped.

Mijn vrouw en ik zijn in diverse landen naar Italiaanse restaurants geweest, en buiten Italië hebben we hier de beste maaltijden gehad, dus we kwamen graag nog eens terug.Veel Italiaanse restaurants zetten alleen de standaard keuzes op het menu - de standaard pasta, de standaard pizza's. Doodsaai. En dan heb je de Italiaanse restaurants die dénken dat ze bijzonder zijn, maar waar dat tegen blijkt te vallen. We zijn zelfs bij Carluccio's (van een tv-kok) en bij Jamie's Italian (van Jamie Oliver) geweest, maar eerlijk gezegd komen we liever bij dit restaurant in Borculo terug.Als je moedig genoeg bent om af te wijken van de standaard pizza en pasta op het menu, en een vlees- of visgerecht te kiezen, dan krijg je iets op tafel dat je elders niet zo gauw zult vinden. Zelfs ons voorgerecht was bovengemiddeld goed. Alles is nét even lekkerder of bijzonderder dan ergens anders. Dat begint al met de kruidenboter en eindigt bij de aardappeltjes en de spaghetti die we bij de vis kregen. De aardappeltjes waren éxtra dun gesneden, goed gekruid en érg krokant gebakken, de spaghetti bij de vis was goed gekruid en van chilipepertjes voorzien, een pasta die je niet gauw vergeet. Perfect gebakken tongfilet maakte het gerecht af, en het geheel was overheerlijk.Jammer dat toen we dachten de maaltijd nóg perfecter te maken met een nagerecht, de tiramisu uit de magnetron bleek te komen en in de hoeken warm en in het midden ijskoud was, een vreemde tegenstelling die we niet zo prettig vonden, en dat bovendien de bovenste laag van het gerecht aan de taaie kant was. Dat kwam helaas niet met de kwaliteit van de andere gerechten overeen. Jammer dat men het nodig vond een magnetron in te zetten. Ik snap wel waarom, je kunt soms moeilijk schatten hoeveel je van iets nodig gaat hebben en grijpt dan natuurlijk makkelijk naar bevroren voorraad - maar magnetrongebruik is eigenlijk nooit ideaal, en magnetrons zouden eigenlijk uit restaurantkeukens verbannen moeten worden. Maar ... de smaak was uitstekend, dus jammer dat de toestand en temperatuur van dit dessert niet ideaal waren.Afgezien van deze tegenvaller hebben we echter een heerlijke maaltijd gehad.

After a lunch in front of the trattoria, with a savory Caprese salad and a nice pasta alla Norma, accompanied by a white wine, advised by the owner, I opted for a dinner at the same location a couple of days later. The dining takes place in a large space, where also the shop and kitchen are located. In the middle of the room a grand piano, stacked with bottles of wine, vinegar, olive oil and the likes. Allthough the menu may be a bit limited, the food is delicious. Start with the antipasti Aimo. You won't regret it. I had a vitello con funghi e gorgonzola to follow. Winelovers are in for a treat, because Aimo Vino is a winesellers as well. And then to top it all off, the lady of the house, mezzosoprano Sandra Fluttert, surprised us with an opera-aria. Very moving, at 8 ft distance from where you 're sitting.

This is the kind of place you'll get a no nonsense meal. It's good food, well prepared and in line with the local surroudings: they serve a lot of game dishes. We had a great evening, with helpfull staff, and we had our desert near the fireplace. If you're in the area, worth checking this place out.

Markelo has not much to offer as far as good food is concerned. Welcome exception to this poor conclusion is il campanile, where proud Italians honour their country by serving delicious Italian food. Apart from the crispy pizza's and pasta's, there is much to enjoy of other Italian specialties, always prepared with fresh ingredients. Recommendable is the fixed menu, daily offered at a fair price. And the winecard is good enough to satisfy "connaisseurs". Living nereby, my wife and I love to visit this restaurant on a regular base.
