Bunratty Castle is located near the village. The village is accessed by the N18 connecting it to Limerick and to Galway. The Raite river defines the eastern boundary of the parish, and flows into the Shannon Estuary, which defines the southern boundary.

Ate there today, was disappointed on the whole.Waitress had to ask us a number of times what we ordered and the food took ages.I requested my dinner without Brussels spouts, on arrival my dinner plate was full of Brussels sprouts! When paying there seemed to be confusion amongst the staff over the bill and they were actually arguing about it behind the bar, very unprofessional.

Ate at this restaurant tonight despite looking up on line and seeing special offers none were on the menu tonight....not a problem with us. We had cannelloni stuffed with cheese and spinach which was tasteless the sauce that it came in was lovely. My partner had the hake (which was tiny) came on a bed of tasteless puy lentils and topped with two tough camalari dont know what happened to the spinach veloute no sign on plate. Meal was bland and overpriced. Thought staff lovely and professional couldnt fault...wont be back.Dear shannon90Thank you for taking the time to review us. Stopped here for lunch.When we entered we sat at a table but when nobody approached us my wife went searching for menus and eventually found one on the bar counter.Meanwhile the servers continued to wander aimlessly around but eventually one of them took our order.The food was top class but when it came to paying we again could find nobody to provide the bill and I stood at the counter for some time and eventually succeeded in paying my bill.The food we had was excellent but I cannot remember when i have encountered the level of disinterest by staff.Such a pity.Dear vincent oThank you for your recent review, I am delighted to see that you enjoyed your meals with us during your recent visit.but i am disappointed to see that the service did not match the level of quality of the food and i will be addressing this with all members of Staff.Thank you again for your feedbackkind regardsJohn

This restaurant has a lovely atmosphere, an extensive menu, good food and excellent service. Nothing is a problem. Flexibility with the dishes at no extra cost. Great seafood chowder. Very good Irish coffees. Right beside Bunraty castle with loads of parking. A good place to break on your travels.

My parents and I visited on a Saturday evening and really enjoyed our visit.The service was super, waitress was really lovely and helpful.Good value, generous portions. Lovely place, really well appointed, ask for a booth. Building is a picture, with its thatched roof. Wonderful menu, delicately cooked with great tasting food. Specials were marvellous. Try the Rib surf and turf, not cheap at â¬40 but really good. Tempura prawns accompanying were stunning. I changed the potato for sweet potato fries which were excellent. Mussels starter was really good too. Pasta starter is a good choice as packed with taste but manageable portion. Go easy on the Guinness Bread and leave room. Malbec was dark and deep and good value at â¬32. No rush here and top service too. We thoroughly enjoyed the Traditional Irish Night. The food was delicious. The servers were attentive and fun to interact with. 3 of us had dinner on Thursday 20th June 2019 and it was outstanding. From the moment that we stepped through the door, we were greeted by Ciara and then by Jack- both with outstanding friendliness and efficiency. I had Pork Belly and black pudding, followed by Fillet of Cod and Mouth watering vanilla icecream. Noel ( owner), David ( GM) and Vicram ( Maitre'd) called to our table - many times- to see if we were pleased with our meal. Many thanks Noel, David, Ciara, Vicram, Jack and the Manor staff for an outstanding meal and service. Incidentally the restaurant was packed, thus indicating its popularity.

Absolutely delighted with the Glen Tavern.After suffering the truely awful O'Driscolls Bar on the other side of the river the day before, the Glen Tavern was a joy - everything you hope a traditional Irish pub should be... friendly helpful staff who were only too happy to put sport on the various screens around the pub, great food and that was well priced (and a good pint too) and pleasent fellow customers.For anyone drinking in the centre of Limerick City, I'd say give it a visitHi there wayoutsider, We are delighted to hear that we managed to turn your evening around for the better during your visit. What a lovely restaurant....spacious, bright. The staff were amazing....nothing was too much trouble.
