For those who don't know, Gruenwald is a little bit upmarket. Such places are not usually known for their welcoming of strangers so it was a pleasant surprise to be served with a smile.Light meals are on offer like the Leberkase rolls (the Bavarian Big-Mac), pork or chicken with a great potato salad. If you didn't get enough to eat at lunch, they also offer some very good meat cuts like marinated Irish lamb cutlets. I'll be back for some of those.Dear Ian,thank you so much for your amazing review. We love to make you feel welcome. I was thrilled to discover that this restaurant serves zebra steaks. It was delicious and I can't recommend it strongly enough. They also have other meats, including steaks sourced from Africa, and Ostrich, and crocodile, as well as a really delicious fish called kingklip. Everything was delicious and I would recommend it to anyone looking to try a bunch of new meats. It is not cheap though, so it is probably best for special occasions.

This is a high class restaurant where the whole concept fits. The menu is simple: you choose between 4 till 8 courses, they ask, what you donât like or have allergies and then, get surprised. The individual courses are a harmonic composition of food, which always fits.

After team building, we had a barbecue party. Was nice weather and our group was on the open terrace. Good choices of meat and side dishes. Can be a better offer of red wine.

Nothing to rave about. Portion size was generous. Food was OK. Atmosphere that evening was ok. Not too crowded as we arrived early. Our reservation was messed up and despite an email confirmation, it could not be found. Neither could the requested corner table be found. They were available but we could not sit there. There you go. Overall OK.Dear PJsPjs,thanks for your feedback. Sorry for the reservation mistake. Hopefully we can show you next time a better side.

This is the place wait staff should come to learn ... Andreea is fabulous, attentive, observant and delightful. This authentic Italian restaurant (gracias mille Pia) has great things to offer ... the freshest of ingredients, sensational tastes of Italia, excellent wine selection and of course an Italian at the helm!!. Germans it seems have a fascination with Italian food .... This is YOUR place to come...The menu is not in English but was explained perfectly to us. The real issue is what NOT to choose.. Seriously, octopus, salmon, rabbit, veal, beef.. It is a perfect Italian restaurant, a little out of the city (but 80 m from the Underground).if you are interested...we were delighted by gratis mixed bruscheeta plate, then selected veal carpaccio and char grilled octopus. Mains of rabbit with polenta and saffron seafood ... Neither could be faulted. We finished with of course lemoncello!!! Enjoy.

The service was excellent, one of the best I have received in Germany. That said, the food there is just amazing and the combination of flavors of the dishes perfect. They were very accommodating as we wanted to taste a few different courses so the chef prepared sharing plates of all the courses we ordered. We have extremely high standard when it comes to fish being from Iceland and as such, we generally do not eat fish inland Germany. The chef informed us that the halibut was flown in fresh that morning so we decided to try. Very good! And the scallop carpaccio and goose liver, what a feast!In my opinion, this is a world class jewel hidden in a small village. Look forward to go there again.
