My wife and I enjoyed a very pleasant evening at the Spring Garden. We were on a mission for Conch and they provided. Dinner started with Conch fritters, the last they had. A nice mixture of seasoning and conch. The main course was jerked conch. Nicely spiced, perfectly cooked. Conch can be rather chewy if overdone and this cooked to perfection. Dinner was complemented with Presecco. Desert was a chocolate cake that was moist and flavorful. Grand total with tip $125 U.S. If you are in Ocho Rios, I highly recommend the Spring Garden. The best meal we had in Jamaica.Thank you for sharing your dining experience with us Robert B!!! I had friends visiting and wanted a relaxed, easy night .. and it was perfect.. food was good, Greek platter, lovely salads, panini & the chicken herb dish.. This is one of the old, established restaurants in Kingston but definitely showing its age. Food was mediocre considering it is considered a 5-star level restaurant and one of the more famous in Kingston. Recipes probably haven't changed in decades. Go to some of the newer establishments in Kingston. This restaurant caters mostly to tourists and locals with birthdays. The terrace was terrific. We loved going up for cocktail hour, meeting up with other guests, and trying something new off the menu each night. There's live music every night!

The dinner experience at Xtabi was one of the best I have experienced in Negril! I had the grilled snapper and it was perfectly seasoned. The staff provided top notch service and we even ventured into the caves on the property. I would highly recommend having dinner and watching the sunset at Xtabi! Will definitely be coming back!

For years it has been a challenge to find good good restaurants in the Port Antonio area - if you wanted to branch out beyond chicken with rice and peas.Gladly there is the Bushbar, the restaurant at well known Boutique Hitel Geejam which fills the void. While not for the budget traveler, it offers a nice range of food which puts a layer of local flavors over some international staples. Cooked to perfection and beautifully presented you can enjoy a nice meal in a low key environment of tropical understated elegance.The food is complimented by a nice cocktail menu and a fairly extensive wine list at reasonable prices.

Stayed for a week and ate several meals during our stay and while all meals were delicious, especially loved the fresh fruits, soup and salads... we ate their greek salad and pumpkin several times and each time it was slightly different but always fresh and really good! We are a family that loves to cook at home and that makes a point of taking a cooking class every time we travel. From a chef who travels to our home in Playa del Carmen to catching our own fish in the mangroves and cooking them over an open hearth in Belize, we are always looking for unique and authentic flavors and experiences, and Zimbali was the highlight of our trip! We travel to Negril with frequency, but this was the first time we took our teens. We stayed at a big all-inclusive (we've never stayed at one before) and they.... hated it. They found it impersonal and generic, and when we arrived at Zimbali for the cooking class, my 14-year-old son, upon surveying the grounds and kitchen said, "why didn't we stay here?" Then we took the farm tour and my daughter said, "this is much more what we were hoping to do in Jamaica. This feels REAL." This was all before we even entered the cooking studio for our midday meal. The meal itself? Lovely. We loved the idea of a chilled salad dressing, and we will try to recreate it at home. The jerk was perfectly spiced. The sides complemented the dishes. The plating was pretty. Everything was lovely. My only complaint, and this is a minor one, was that we arrived when they were getting ready to go on holiday for a week or so, in fact, they scheduled us in, and I could not help but feeling bad that we interrupted their plans. This was not reflective of the staff in any way. It was an internal idea of mine. As such, we had a private meal, the four of us. A few tips: 1. Yes the drive is bumpy. Many many country roads are much bumpier. Relax and enjoy the country view.2. When they say "walking shoes" believe them. It is a farm tour, so proper footwear is essential.3. We brought school supplies for the local children and they were appreciated.
