We were staying in nearby Royal Retreat and decided to walk the five minutes to this local place. It was pretty basic, no menu, we were only offered their local Sri Lankan curry dish but it was fantastic, plentiful, sufficiently spicy but not excessive. Service was great, attentive and smily. And all very good value.

Even if this restaurant doesn't appear in the first ten it deserves a visit.You can enjoy best sri lankan food like Rotti or Kottu or try something more international.We had dinner there twice during our stay in Sigiryia. Good atmosphere thanks to firelights.

Good welcome, nice relaxed atmosphere and great home cooked food. The owner is working hard to develop this genuine family business across a range of activities, including taxi service and Jeep safaris. We enjoyed our visit. Good luck for the future.

The cafe is really cozy and created with much love. As the cafe is just opened they have fried rice and noodles on the menu right now which will probably be extended by some more dishes soon. Everybody was really frienly and helpful. We even got offered a cooking lesson for Sri Lankan Curry which was a great experience and tasted fantastic. So if I will be around Sigiriya next time I will definetly pass by again!

Delicious food with fresh ingredients, delicious taste, amazing views to Sigiriya's famous Lion Rock (what a sunrise and sunset!). It' a very big restaurant so it suits everyone. Small and large groups. Must try Currys and Coconut Roti. They also have western options like delicious omelettes if you want.The family runs it is and the staff are zso so nice. Gammada Restaurant is a Gem of a place. Serves the most authentic traditional Sri Lankan fare, which is absolutely mouth watering. The western food too is cooked to perfection.It was an unforgettable culinary experience in the most tranquil village setting. Compliments to the Chefs and staff for an awesome all round experience. We were staying at the lovely Sigiriya Water Cottages when we decided to try this restaurant next door. We loved it. A large array of freshly prepared Sri Lanka food was offered by gorgeous, smiling Nisha and her parents. The restaurant is very clean and well presented and you are made to feel like family. The food is mildly spiced but diverse in its flavours. Our three young children enjoyed it all. A trip to this small restaurant is highly recommended!Thank you 1976Caro!

They had no fresh water or fresh beer!I took as desert a fruit salad with ice cream - the fruit were too warm... that became an overpricy dinner!The main dish was good though, and the personal is nice.I regret aboutyour comment as you have mentioned about beer which you never ordered for. I am 100% sure you would have written this review purposely to tarnish our reputation after going through our previous excellent reviews .I cant understand what u meant by fresh water We had cold and normal bottle water but you didn't ask for it.and you didn't have a main dish you had cheese rotti and vegetable rolls.This is what you orded .Unfortunately i cant attach a copy of your bill.your orderCheese roti (02 pieces ) 300/=Vegetable Rolls (02 pie ) 120/sprite 80/=fruit salad with ice cream 350/=this was serverd with fresh tropical fruits and toped with three scoops of icecream garnished with cajunuts and plums.And if you have checked menu cards of other places you would have noticed they sell sprite for Ru.150/ .

I had dinner here this evening and the host family could not have been more accommodating or friendly. The restaurant is not easy to fine, but once there you are made very welcome. The meals were very fresh, the roti delicious and the prices very reasonable. I would not hesitate recommending the Mango Tree, even if just to meet this lovely family and a Pinky the dog.
