We rolled up here looking for a decent German lunch and wasn't disappointed. As the title indicates the portions were not small, but the quality didn't suffer as it can in some other places around the world.Four of us had full main courses and the fifth having from the 'not very hungry' menu. All dishes turned up in reasonable time, piping hot from the kitchen. And despite the portions there was none left by the end of the meal (though a little helping out was required for the youngest member of the party and he's 11 and eats heartily).Service was good. On arrival we had thought about eating outside, but there was no room. Whilst waiting for our meal we were asked if we wanted to move to an outside table that had become free; a lovely thought.

The food was good and the service was punctual but I think that the quality of the overall restaurant was below what advertised on the website (and our expectations).Sure the SPA was nice and the glass roofer hydro was amazing but a little bit concern goes to the dimension of the sauna and Turkish bath. Massages were carried out professionally but personally I havenât felt the warming connection, the âbeing pamperedâ that usually I feel on SPAs.

Just found this place by walking around and seeing the advertising of a kids farm. Turned out that this was a bit more than a local farm. It was a guesthouse with rooms and holiday houses, and restaurant with terrace, playground, small animals and deers... No wonder there was also deer on the menu. And the taste was splendid. Big dishes, nice salads, kids had hard time to finish theirs. Lovely and modern terrace. And even though this place is located just next to a road, since this is countryside, it's more meant for passers-by or people staying there, so no big traffic, expect for the occasional farmers. A place to return to...

We have eaten here for over 10 years and the quality is always good, with excellent prices. It is a great family restaurant which serves very good Bavarian cuisine. You HAVE to try a Knoedel, and the Schweinshaxe on a Thursday are brilliant.

Nothing new. Excellent soups and main meals. We had three variants of beef- steak, salad and skewer- and all meals were without a problem. Very good poppy seed cake. Really recommended

Die Gaststube ist freundlich, wenn auch traditionell eingerichtet. Das wird hier sicher auch erwartet.Die Bedienung ist freundlich, das Essen war gut. Ein Blick in die Küche machte Lust auf ein Wiederkommen.

"Ambiente" darf man nicht erwarten, dafür freundliche Bedienung und gemütliche Atmosphäre - nicht zuletzt durch die Einheimischen, die offenbar hier auch gern einkehren (Stammtisch!). Selbst im Steak-Restaurant hatte ich seit langer Zeit kein solch perfektes Rumpsteak wie dort (16,80)! Auch meine Begleitung war mit Schweinelendchen (11,80) recht zufrieden.Schade nur, dass die Beilagen zwar ordentlich, aber einfallslos waren - wohl, weil die Speisekarte ansonsten leider nur extrem Italo-lastig ist (= Pizza).

This restaurant had a distinctly Bavarian feel to it (perhaps not surprising considering the location). We enjoyed the cozy bench seating available throughout the periphery of the restaurant and the dark woodwork. Service was prompt and attentive. My husband had a meat dish in a root vegetable sauce that he found delicious. I had a meal salad with thin sliced pork that was more than I could easily finish! We appreciated the "tight" menu. They aren't trying to do too much here. Just trying to do a dozen or so Bavarian dishes well. Though not a regional specialty we also were glad that chicken nuggets were available for our two children :)

First of all, I just saw on this bistro's website that they are closing their doors on July 31, 2019--I'm typing this on July 17 so if you want to try it time is of the essence! Although only there once, we enjoyed the food and the atmosphere and are sorry to hear it's closing. Our family of four stopped here for lunch while in Spiegelau. We ate in the small adjacent beer garden. Most appreciated were the good variety of meal salads---perfect lunch items for a hot summer day, and not always on Bavarian restaurant menus. (Our kids as usual opted for pizza and pasta, which was also available). Unique and new to us was the krauterlimonade. It was like a slightly spicy homemade soda pop with ginger and some other spices.

Wer nicht ortskundig ist, wird das Restaurant sicher nicht finden. Dank Empfehlung einer netten Dame aus Spiegelau direkt haben wir das Wirtshaus mit Navi gefunden.Es liegt schön im Grünen. Genug Plätze zum DrauÃen sitzen, ein Wintergarten und ein normaler Gastraum.Der Service war zuvorkommend, das Essen sehr lecker.
