The Food Box is a humble sit down and takeaway restaurant attached to Wiigmores on the south side of Rarotonga. Hungry for a quick snack, we went in and ordered a cheeseburger for my wife. It cost us $5 and for the price of food in the Cook Islands, we didnât expect much. However, we had Kia Orana service, it was a freshly made decent sized patty with great cheese, lettuce, onion and even tomato. For FIVE dollars. Granted, this is not a life-changing burger, but what an insanely good value proposition for the Cook Islands. Hit the spot, quality made, delicious. To top it off, they had a combo with 2 burgers and chips for $12. They had many other variants of the burger, including double patties, with egg, etc. They also had some fried chicken and other fast food. Itâs simply too bad we had the cheeseburger as takeaway as I would have ordered one for myself had we eaten on the spot. Sometimes a good business does not get the attention it deserves because it is not on TripAdvisor whereas others are in the spotlight that are otherwise mediocre. It's a must that you to visit this little local bar/cafe in Rarotonga! It's great food at a very reasonable price with very friendly service. They have live entertainment, karaoke nights & a pool table and drinks are very reasonably priced! The staff are extremely friendly and very welcoming I would highly recommend visiting this locally Owen bar/cafe!
