Friendly staff, however that doesn't make up for terrible food. €7 for a steak sandwich, beef is diced up slices of rubber and served in a breakfast soggy roll, perhaps consider serving in a ciabata? Same for the chicken version. Deluxe burger was also very poor with 2 wafers of meat. On the plus side the pizza was nice and the chips are pretty good!

Jackie Lennox's Chip Shop

First experience for me at Lennoxs, and had heard plenty about it being “the best in Cork”, and “an institution”, but for me it was an average chipper that seems to be riding on the name more than the quality. Don’t get me wrong, the food wasn’t horrible, but that’s not the standard to aim for surely! Portion sizes were alright, I’d say decent value for money - and the overall price paid for the meal was good too. We ordered their special double burger, cheese and onion pie, large chips, curry sauce and chicken nuggets (they don’t do goujons for some reason) - and the price was little under €16. Overall, an average chipper, not the worst, and if your local, then it’ll do I’m sure. As a recent resident in the area, I’ll keep looking though.

This place reminded me of when I lived in America and on fridays me and my girlfriend would go to the local diner during the 60s. It had a outstanding atmosphere and the staff were delightful and very patient. Great food.

Bunsen's does one thing - American hamburgers, and they are the best at it.Traveling Ireland we often found hamburgers over cooked. According to the locals it was "the law" that all hamburgers had to be coked "well done". So they usually were. Unfortunately that usually made them taste bad. However, for some reason Bunsen's can give you a tastey, fresh burger cooked medium. What a difference! The meat is juicy and tender. If you love American hamburgers, this is the place to eat.

The Great Wall

Got a takeaway from here with my wife. Got a skewered chicken satay for starter which was ok. I had crispy sliced chicken with king po sauce for main, the chicken was revolting. Stringy, tough, chewy, it was disgusting. The sauce was thick and heavy but tasted ok. The fried rice was bland and overcooked. My wife had duck with plum sauce, the plum sauce was nice, duck was average. Plus we had to pay €2 extra for prawn crackers when nowadays most Chinese restaurants give them free with a takeaway. However, they did give two cans of minerals free with the takeaway which was reasonable. I won't be revisiting, needs a lot of improvement and obviously needs to invest in better quality chicken. €29 down the drain.

Quarter pounder is one of the nicest in Cork, very tasty.I asked for extra crispy chips, this request was ignored and the lady served me the same chips that everyone else normally gets. The chips were soggy and I only ate a few before binning them, this was disappointing as I was starving.
