La Sirena has good pasta's, pizza's and other little dishes. The restaurant isn't that big but you're not sitting on your neighbour's lap. The staff is also friendly.

I had a business lunch here and enjoyed the cappucino and the bread rolls and salads on offer. We both were very content with the freshness, taste and presentation of our food. prices were good too. The restaurant is on walking distance from the railway station and has ample parking space in front of it on the village square (that is a circle) of Nieuwerkerk.

I have experienced the service at this restaurant many times and it is just terrible, you have wait and wait for someone to come to order, to ask for anything and even for the bill, I see other reviewers have experienced the same thing , hence my question is if the management in this hotel is sleeping ? Don't they want to acknowledge and resolve there inadequate service ?? GM PLS WAKE UP !!!

The food is what you might expect from a good Greek restaurant. All the classics like gyros, kalamaria are available. But also some real traditional dishes not to be found anywhere else. Everything is made fresh so it might take a little time. Which is never a problem because the great staff makes you really feel at home and they work hard to give everybody a great evening. The feeling of always being welcome makes you look forward to the next visit. Highly recommended!

My friend and I went for a late drink, near closing time. They were happy to serve us and were happy to give all attention to only two people. They could send us away and close, but did not. Friendly people, nice seating, both indoor and outdoor,own parking place. Did not take any food, will do next time.

This place opened almost a year ago and is a hit. The bistro atmosphere is based on the translation in Nieuwerkerk (Perron means platform in Dutch) so it's a traveling interior vibe with old suitcases and b/w photos. We ordered a chicken bbq sandwich and ''12 o'clock lunch'', both were really good. The staff is really friendly. During the weekends, at night, the other part is crowded with young people who come here for drinks.

Nice ambiance and surprisingly good food in this restaurant that one would never find by coincidence. The chefâs 4 course surprise menu was simply excellent. Creative, nicely presented and very tasted. We liked the ceviche and loved the âbavetteâ. Very good housewines (sauvignon blanc and negroamaro cabernet). Can not wait to go back

We enjoyed a dinner here that was delicious, Michelin star worthy. Lost track but around 8-9 courses with tasty and beautiful looking dishes, using flowers and herbs. The restaurant is run by a young, very hardworking couple who make you feel very welcome. Recently redecorated the place with nice furniture.

If you're looking for a nice, relatively quiet place to have a decent meal, look no further. It's a bit out of the way from the city, but in my opinion definitely worth making the detour to the old center of Nieuwerkerk a/d IJssel. The menu consists of tapas, with such classics as patatas bravas and albondigas, but also own creations. The mushrooms filled with cheese are my favorite item from the menu; give them a try!They also serve some nice wines, both Spanish and from other countries. Tuesdays thru Thursdays, you can make use of an "all you can eat" arrangement; haven't tried that, but either way the restaurant is budget friendly.Well worth a visit, according to this frequent visitor!

We went on a Saturday evening making a booking at very short notice. Booking is needed on many nights. We failed to get in on our previous 2 attempts. The staff are very welcoming. We arrived a little early for our table and were seated at the bar with a drink on the house while we waited for our table to clear. The food was excellent with one of the best burgers I have had anywhere. The entrecote was also beautifully cooked. The grand dessert which we shared was magnificent with seven different mini desserts.Excellent review. Very happy with.Thank you.
