Reviews on Central European food in Bratislava, Bratislava Region, Slovakia. Stare Mesto, the Old Town of Slovakia's capital, whisks visitors back a few centuries as they wander cobblestone streets, admire the Baroque architecture, enjoy summer and Christmas concerts at Old Town Hall and while away time at cafes and restaurants. Venture beyond for more sites, including the 15th-century hrad (castle) with its treasury and history and music museums, the Slovak National Theater and the Slovak Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Slovak National Gallery, housed in an 18th-century palace.

the food was very good, but everything else was really really bad. The service was unfriendly, we waited for almost an hour to get our food. The starters and main plates came together and the plates were cold. They forgot 9(!!) meals, thats was really disappointing. We spent more than 2 hours here.. To top it off, its really expensive. There was no good value, eventough the food is good. I dont recommend going there. Lots of other good restaurants for half the price and equall good food.Thank you very much for you review, we are really sorry that you had such an unpleasant experience. We would like to kindly ask you if you could help us identify who was serving you on that evening? Can you please try to describe him or her ? Thank you in advance With the kindest apologiesDominik

Arriving at 9pm, the restaurant seemed buzzing and busy and, considering this, we were greeted in a warm and friendly welcoming manner. Taken down to the lower restaurant I chose an authentic local dish while the other half decided on some venison. Service was speedy, prices were affordable and the food was amazingly yummy! I'd highly recommend this authentically decorated restaurant. Thank you for your positive review. We will be grateful if you visit us again.

We arrived at 13:45 and the waiter told us that we could only order the daily meal because a large group would arrive soon. We sat down and the waiter arrived after a few minutes with a terrible soup and he went away (for the second times) without asking if we wanted something to drink. Fortunately we had a little bottle of water that we drunk during the all lunch (I want underline that the costumer saw our bottle but he didn't ask us if we wanna something to drink). After ten minutes (in which we didn't know what to do, because we didn't know in what the daily menu consisted) he arrived for the third time with a spicy goulash (but I don't like spicy food so when I sat down I asked him if there was something spicy in the daily dishes and he told me that there wasn't, so I couldn't eat my meal). In the and, we had to attend 10 minutes at the cash desk waiting to pay this terrible lunch (and the costumer saw us us different times but he didn't care). We were absolutely disgusted by the meals (my boyfriend that likes spicy said that the goulash was acid and it didn't taste well) and by attitude of the costumers. It was chip but I honestly prefer to pay something more but don't go away still hungry.

I visited Houdini restaurant part of 5 star Hotel Marrol's for lunch on a day trip from Vienna to Bratislava.I was looking for a set lunch deal, that had some good variation/options,that had good reviews and offered a competitive price. After extensive research on Trip Advisor I chose Houdini restaurant.I am so glad that I did as it was a 5 star experience from start to finish.Amazing food, fantastic service and smart, elegant setting.Set Lunch is served from 12p.m-3p.m.We arrived at 2.20p.mish,so relatively late but at no stage were we rushed by the staff.I chose:chicken soup, veal with dumplings and had crepes for dessert.I was fully satisfied with every dish. The chicken soup was rich and flavoursome and freshly poured for us with style by our waiter at our table. My mains was first class, melt in the mouth tender veal and divine potato dumplings, marinated in a great sauce.I left nothing in the plate.Crepes were enjoyable as well.3 great courses for just 14.5 euros, this was accompanied by a nice beer.I was more than happy to tip as the food and service was exceptional. This experience was one of the best parts of our day Trip to Bratislava. Thanks Houdini Restaurant.

Maybe we hit a very off night but very poor experience here. Service is shocking and food is solid at best. Asked to see tasting menu 3 times with no joy, then finally got it and first course arrived a moment later even though we hadnât ordered yet! Local fizz was strange and served warm (but in ice bucket), still water was sparkling, took ages to get the bill. Restaurant was half full (see, Iâm a positive person!) on a Friday night and easy to see why.

After living in Bratislava for many months and trying most of the best restaurants, I still have to say that Globo is the best restaurant in town.If I want to impress my visitors or business guests, this is the place to go.Recently attended a wine tasting dinner event. 6 amazing courses of delicious & creative dishes, complemented perfectly with wine.Beyond the food, Globo has the best service in town. The waiters are extremely friendly, take the time to explain the dishes, and cater to your needs.Very happy to have this restaurant in Bratislava!
