Reviewed By Paradise645052We needed a hotel for one night stay as we took part on an event in the town finishing very late in the night. Hotel Marathon offered us everything what we needed: 1. Although in the city center in the pedestrian zone, access by car from behind with protected parking area. 2. Clean, comfortable, cozy room with spacious balkony (smoking area, if you wish). 3. Rich breakfast with no time limit! We got the whole buffet on our table, nothing was missing. 4. Late check out until 15:00.

Reviewed By peterdaveyp0214azComfortable small hotel, very rustic with an excellent restaurant serving traditional Slovakian food at very reasonable prices.The staff were very friendly and helpful We were at the very end of the season and the restaurant was packed every lunch time and evening. We were using public transport which was very limiting, the use of a car would have been an advantage as the public transport was infrequent and the hotel is quite a distance from the centre of town/station. It was a little unfortunate that one of the major attractions in Senec, the thermal Aquapark was closed for most of our visit but this is a great place with lots of pools, slides etc

Reviewed By Miriam SThis Motel has two parts – hostel sort of set up and hotel rooms / suites. We have stayed in one bedroom suite with its own kitchen. The room was nice, clean and spacey, with lot of storage and well placed furniture. Bathroom was clean and well maintained. Staff was nice and friendly with little limited English. Location – depends what your needs are – it’s really close to grocery shops if you are here for vacation and you cooking for yourself (there are two big grocery stores in walking distance). Its close to center of the city and bus stop if you go to Bratislava. But I find it quite far from lakes – if you come here for summer vacation you will walk a lot ?

Definitely not a 4* hotel
Reviewed By ivaniZ6799UWThis is far from a 4 star hotel. 1. Staff are super nice! Yes, they are. 2. Our hotel room was located in another building, across the road from the main building. Took the 2nd entrance, got to the 2nd floor, but our keycard would not open the hallway door. So we had to get back, took the first entrance, got to the 2nd floor, keycard worked - we had to walk all the way to the end of the hallway, where are room was located, right next from the 2nd hallway door, that we could not open. 3. AC in the room did not work, or worked very poorly - based on the other reviews, this was intentional. The temperature difference between outdoord and indoors was hardly 3 degrees. At night we had 29 degrees in our room. 4. Besides the bed, there was no night table, to put your phone, or a water bottle. 5. on the minibar there is listed Absolut vodka, in fact there was some "local" vodka, called vodka 6. We have been charged for parking, even though I later checked my email, where it clearly stated "parking included" - I was later told, that they have deducted it from the cost. 7. Breakfast at 7am is only Mon-Sat. On Sundays, the breakfast is at 8am. So we had to go for an hour long walk, as nobody told us this, even the brochure states, breakfast is being served from 7. 8. instead of one king bed, there were 2 singles, joined as one king. this was too bad, as I kept falling between the mattresses. 9. our room had a huge parking lot view, but I guess it does not matter now, but it'd be nice, if it was mentioned in the room description. PS: fix the typos in the cardboard envelope that holds the keycard. it does not look professional. E.g: Frustuck should be Frühstück, and fulfit is not a word. Just a little detail. Overall assumption: it's a nice place, with super friendly and nice staff, but not worth what I paid and 4 star hotel looks much different than this. I paid a 4 star price though. Beware, when you eat at one of the local "restaurants" near by as many of them do not accept cards/contactless payment. I only had a phone with me to pay with, so I had to walk 1500m back to the hotel to get cash.

Reviewed By iriska2017Měly jsme pokoj Business s vyšším standardem. Jediná nevýhoda je, že balkón byl směrem na hlavní silnici a za silnicí koleje, kde neustále projíždí vlaky. Jinak vybavení pěkné, jen se celý týden nevytíralo, tak všude prach. Dole z ulice jídelna a z druhé strany v zahradě pěkná pizzerie, restaurace, kde je pěkné posezení venku. Recepční moc milé a ochotné.

The hotel was very run down, lots of broken furniture, overgrown garden and the wellness part of the hotel was broken. At first glance our room seemed nice but then we notice the cob webs on the walls and ceilings, a dirty grubby sponge left at the sink. Then we found some dirty clothes in the bed so they had simply made the beds instead of changing the sheets. Next we found something on the sheets of the kids bunkbeds (looked like blood), at this point we demanded a refund and went back home. Not worth the €100 per night.

Reviewed By KatarinChRoom was small and totally useless furnished, any belonging to the bed, mirror as for the children, empty fridge, no house-shoes or further stuff for wellness usage. No service for changing the towels, even in times of Corona. Dinner was poor without any information about the food itself (allergens etc.). Not that nice to have a camp with cars just passing through the street but ok, hotel has not impact on everything. Maybe nice parts for the children but kids programme for a dinner is not that appreciated by adults. Not at all worth that price, it builts up a nice picture at the first touch unless you enter the room. I have experienced nicer hotels with better service in planty of other slovak hotels (Piestany, Trencin, Trencianske Teplice).
